Elon stops providing mobile connector/says “you're on your own”

Why do you think Tesla should provide a $200+ part when half of all owners never use it? If someone actually finds it useful to own a charge cable, buy it! This attitude that Tesla should provide cords to everyone, to just lay in their frunks from then on, is ignorant. The car comes with a charge cable that fits the ever-present 110 outlet and can be upgraded for a price. For faster charging, one might find they need to have a 220-volt outlet put in and upgrade their circuit breakers. If, IF everyone used the charge cables it would be normal to include them, but they don't. A Tesla will charge on a 110 volt outlet, and many people plug into such outlet every night.

Ford, on the other hand, is providing Lightning buyers with a mobile connector, 80A wall-mounted connector, and components for V2H integration as part of the purchase price. Of course you're paying for these things, but they know the majority of their customers will need them.

It seems like Tesla is actively trying to destroy the goodwill they have built up over the past decade+ in an attempt to reduce demand in their vehicles. If so, they're doing a great job.
Goodwill never paid Tesla a dime. Neither did it sell a car. Of course there are many here that wish they could get everything free, but they can't. In this case, the "majority of customers" can plug into a 110 volt outlet, and the "majority of customers" will have their cars charged by morning. If they want to charge faster, like in a couple hours, they can pay for that option. I'm for Tesla saving money so they can stay in business.

Made up statistic is made up.

You also seem to be flatly contradicting yourself here or not understanding what’s going on. The car DOESN’T come “with a charge cable that fits the ever-present 110 outlet” any more. That’s what this thread is about. 💡
