Sorry????

Which part of this website not being affliated with Tesla do you not understand? This is a fan forum, Tesla Motors does not have anything to do with it. As dpeilow stated earlier (here is the relevant part of the quote):

...By the way, we're not a blog, we're a forum. We're not the Tesla website either - careful you don't get sued.

From your post here - we are obviously interested in 2 different goals. We are interested in getting off OPEC oil and reducing emissions and you seem interested in selling Tesla EV's. OK - no issue.

We dislike ICE vehicles in general - only support the migration to a predominate diesel light fleet as we migrate to B5, B10, B20, ...

So how exactly does a car that does just under 4 seconds 0-60mph blow the doors off of a car that does it in 3.7s? You need some basic math education.

If your biofuel was really under $1/gal, you couldn't keep up with the demand. Everything you post is clearly BS. Are you from Nigeria?

The purpose of our articles is not to attack EV technologies, rather it is to provide buyers accurate information that they can better filter through the EV marketing hype that we all constantly encounter. The goal is to reduce our dependency on petroleum and therefore emissions with an immediately economically viable solution.

But all he did here was attack EV technologies.

The responses to the various blog posts on the Tesla website have been less than informed about rare earth and heavy metal usage - even per the usage in the Tesla vehicles

Simply astonishing.

One of the articles on their site states "The Tesla EV engineers side stepped the rare earth minerals issue by using a more expensive, heavier and less efficient solution for their generators." Huh? The Tesla's motor is actually quite small, lightweight, and extremely efficient. There's no reason production of this beautifully engineered motor can't be scaled up massively. Oh, and did you notice that it uses no rare earths?

Yes, all modern technology uses some quantity of rare earths, and that includes biodiesel vehicles. The fact is the Tesla drive train doesn't use any supposed massive quantities - no more than any other vehicle including biodiesel vehicles. A chart on his website shows things like cerium being used to make the windshields - sure, cerium oxide is a very commonly-used polishing compound, but there are readily available alternatives if it were ever needed.

Any of these arguments about industrial metals apply to all technologies, not just EVs. If we've really got a problem here, it will affect everything.

This could have been an interesting discussion; unfortunately his method of responding to arguments is to ignore and belittle. Nice prose, but it amounts to "it is cuz I say it is".

I suggest we move on. This fellow isn't interested at all in dialogue.

Tesla is doing fine without our help, our interest is in sustainable, practical, efficient, and available means of reducing oil usage, which EV's are doing quite well at an ever growing rate.

You're the one with the problem here. Really, no one here wants to get off of OPEC oil? I own a diesel and can't put more than B5 in it due to VW's warranty. Also, only two stations in the entire city that sell B5 and neither one is close. I seriously hope your company's earnings are based on the quality of the service you provide.

Also, congrats on all of your blog posts being rated 5 stars.

This must be a bit embarrassing for you - the links you are providing are listing several rare earths in the solar modules. Also, we stopped counting at 27 rare earths and heavy metals used in the Tesla. This is what we do for a living.

OK show's over folks.

He clearly wanted to get his PageRank up. Can't say he wasn't warned.

I don't want to stifle free speach but posting the same URL in post after post, sometimes with no other text, is a blantant attempt to use our popularity to drive traffic.
