Thankyou for pointing out the huge gaps anywhere between Werribee and Hamilton. Also huge gaps between Nhill and Hamilton. In those small countries towns without an EV Charger you may have 3+ servos you do get some odd looks but it is getting better than it was a few years ago.View attachment 1016098

For starters, Chuq's map doesn't have the non Evie charger options in Horsham, which is the route most people would take between Nhill and Hamilton. Also huge gaps between Nhill and Hamilton.
But that's a function of funding. Here’s the Evie map for NSW…
Amazing!!You could show them this location in Newcastle. It was installed by Newcastle City Council. It has a big (about 33kW) solar canopy with a single 50kW CCS2 charger (can be split between 2 cars at once) and 4 AC (max 22kW) chargers. On the ChargeFox network. Currently free to use .
Not for much longer.Currently free to use .
See also this detailed report from three Sydney councils.Amazing
I must say I’d be happy to see them start charging. They get some repayment for the expense, EV uptake is gaining traction and those chargers are very busy. Not for much longer.

In the comments it looks like people leave their cars there after 100% with no penalty so charging youd think would curtail that. Doesnt penalise the guy in the ute icing it hahaI must say I’d be happy to see them start charging. Yeah, they have recently introduced time limited parking in the EV stalls. 1 hour for the DC charger, 2 hours for the AC chargers. It is helping turnover of vehicles. In the comments it looks like people leave their cars there after 100% with no penalty so charging youd think would curtail that. You could also tell them about the 50kW DC charger on Flinders St in Townsville. It is provided free by the city council. It is malfunctioning at the moment, but Plugshare shows heaps of use (which would also be a small subset of the actual use) over a period of years....
The charger here is in the council carpark. I should forward all of these photos to my council who claim to have conducted an extensive survey of all councils, and their highly paid advisers determined that no council in australia is facilitating EV charging.
