FYI, for folks stopping in for a charge, and not wanting to walk all away the expansion fencing, there is no blockades if you walk on the grass behind the super chargers over to Chilis. And if you rather not walk entirely on the grass, you can walk entirely over the mound and there is a sidewalk on the other side.
I’m here right now, lots of spots blocked off for new chargers and there is a Tesla guy here now replacing the existing charging cables.
I'm planning on stopping there on Wednesday before Thanksgiving as my only stop going to NoVA. I'm guessing that the construction will not be complete, but does anyone have prior experience with how busy this site may be that day?
Should be fine, I don't think I've ever seen it completely full.

I have been there multiple times and never had to wait, but it does get busy. Really depends on the time of day I think.

Nobody there at 5:30am yesterday when I was pulled in. Had a moment of panic upon arrival with a low remaining charge on our overnight trip south from Boston to Richmond and saw the site surrounded by fencing and dark. Thought it was offline. I’ve only done a few supercharger stops in my two months of X ownership and all other sites have been new illuminated chargers. I’ll be returning there to charge on our way back north later this week.

Wow. This looks like it's getting stalls on both sides of the median actually from the existing stalls. I asked the guys who were working there and they're not allowed to say anything. Crazy.
Took these last night after I got home, looks like it might be changing to 24 stalls, and lookie the new SC style are in!!

From Monday afternoon. Just returned from a trip and finally have time to post. While I was charging they placed all six of the charging stacks.
Six pedestals being built on each side, 12 new stalls. 20 total counting the 8 existing.

I'm just disappointed that on my annual drive to Newton/Conover, NC, I'll now take the inland PA/VA I-81 to I-77 route instead of 95.

20 stalls is great. I just wish they would build a pedestrian bridge so you could cross Rte.1 without risking your neck.
