    Nonsense.
Perhaps Pat was confused because a radar detector will not work inside a Tesla due to the metallic windshield layer.

If this were the case, the nose cone radar itself wouldn't be able to detect other Teslas. This is, assuredly, nonsense.

The only time in my life I've been pulled over, it was in my Tesla by a cop with a radar gun.

I think this tweet might be a joke. I hope so, anyway.

Here is the tweet, quote: "Little known fact. Because of the materials used in it, the speed of a Tesla cannot be tracked by a radar gun."

Yep, that is indeed a "little known fact" because...it's not a fact. It is incorrect. Aluminum reflects radar.

A politician getting his facts wrong? That's unprecedented.

his party is irrelevant, politicians regardless of party are usually not on top of things, especially "highly technical" things like EVs

If you look at the Tweet's comments, I kinda confirmed it was a joke. Hmm. I thought jokes were supposed to be funny?

He apparently has a Tesla himself so I wouldn't be too hard on him.

She is a Tesla owning, AC/DC loving person with a sense of humor. We could probably use some more of those in government.

I wasn't hard on her, I don't think. Just pointing out that in my opinion it just wasn't funny. Didn't notice anyone here indicating that it was funny either :). Not like I'm offended by it or anything.

Joking about a Tesla having stealth capability, and turning into a political stereotype? Priceless. :D

The clueless part comes from the article. They referred to the 2016 Camaro that was clocked at 171 mph by radar as a "sports car".

That is going to piss off a lot of Eurocar owners ... :D

The 2 faster versions has not been released yet. That's just the standard V8 model.

Trust me. Radar works against a Tesla. It took me 15 months of slick maneuvering to get out of a killer ticket. In the end, the cop said, I swear, "enjoy your car".

    Snap!

I did not put a lot of stock in the claim but since I've a friend who happens to be a highway patrol trooper I asked him to help out with an experiment. He set up along side the road and I headed his way. Sure enough both his radar and lidar guns nailed me.
