Florida Waiting Room

Congratulations, I am also in Florida (Tampa) I received the VIN yesterday and they gave me an appointment to pick up on the 27th at 10 am, the bad thing is that I cannot go because I will be out of town until October 2,
You can go into your app, or call, to change pick up date. You should have a date range open to you to select from. If there is no Oct 2nd call in to your SA. See if they can input the date. I had a similar issue when mine appeared Being out of town. Just don‘t wait to try and change it. My friend was out of town and had to come back early (this was WPB location) to get is car a day earlier than he planned since they told him it would be reassigned if he waited that extra day.

Not a MY but it’s a Tesla lol. Yeah I’m still waiting on what congress says for this tax credit because first it was “amount taken off at time of sale,” (which blows if it is the case) and then I hear it might be an actual tax return given back. It all over the place and who knows anymore. I know only that I love driving this car and will wait for my MY in the meanwhile.

PS please please make sure you inspect the car. I noticed lots of gaps when I was visiting the Tampa location. Even some doors looked like they had no gap and literally touching each other. Door handles not flushed. And some cars just dirty inside. So yeah, look out for the white interior models. Glad I’m addicted to the wood panel and black interior lol. Mine only had one issue that the mobile unit is coming out for, charge port door misaligned. Other than that, flawless.

What firmware are you on and what range does a full charge report?

Ya, I’m still on the same firmware and with the still less than 262 of window sticker stated range. No clue why the firmware hasn’t updated to something a bit newer yet. The other day the car “updated” to the very same firmware. I opened a service appointment over it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

From my understanding and per a service specialist, the SR+ LFP is rated at 252 (which mine hovers from 252-256), and that is all; 262+ is for the NCA-type batteries. I have the window sticker too, but I was told that this was incorrect because of the change in the battery. So yeah, for the battery, it is what it is...I am happy with it, honestly. As for the firmware, I am upset because Disney+ and some other things are missing. A majority of the software update is there, but it is missing car wash mode too, and a few other features.

That’s incorrect. The LFP is rated at 262mi and the NMC is rated at 263mi. The window sticker you received is in fact, correct. In fact, it’s against the law to sell a car with an incorrect Monroney sticker and Tesla would be in legal hot water which is why they quickly had to have all these stickers reprinted before any deliveries could occur. There are M3SR+ LFPs out there on the newer firmware and they correctly show the 262mi of range.

This is news to me because when I bought it off the inventory, it said 253 range. Also, every news article out there says 253...so unless this firmware is changing it to 262, I have not heard of it. Again, I am going based on what the service member said to me, the listing on their website when I bought it (wish I saved it), and online. I would love to see the article or photos that have LFP with 262, trust me I am not complaining about more range but just curious as I am seeing no info on it.

Initially the website said 252mi for LFP, then all of us who ordered one immediately (for delivery like the next day) were told the cars weren’t able to be released yet because they needed to be update and new Monroney stickers printed showing the new range. Then the website was updated to show 262mi of range and that’s what the sticker sold with the car ultimately reflected. Prior to these LFP packs the range on NCM packs was 263mi. That’s what the initial knock on the LFP packs “was” … “~10mi less range.” As it turns out the actual difference was only 1mi and in terms of practicality because of the fact that LFP could charge to 100% every night and NCM should only be charged to 90% the LFP packs technically have more usable daily range.

tl;dr most of us are still awaiting the actual firmware update that will show you the true range as well as enable some other things that are currently not functioning as usual due to the deletion of radar. According to the service guy who called me today Tesla has just been rolling out so many cars lately they haven’t added them all to the new firmware branch, so the update hasn’t really rolled out much at all. 😬

Hey guys, can we revisit tint one more time… this time on my MY order…

I’m thinking of using Xpel XR Plus all around with the following values..
Windshield: 45
Front: 5
Rears: 20
Roof: 70

Hoping my result is a completely matched front/rear of around 5 (rear might be closer to 4, but ya), nicely darken windshield that’s still plenty visible at night and a roof that is basically same as stock, but rejecting the most heat. I really want the roof to be the lightest as possible so passengers and myself can enjoy the large window/view, but still reject all that damn heat.

Anyone have any advice? Not looking for opinions on how 5% is too dark, illegal, how pedestrians won’t be able to see in (that’s my point), etc.

I think that could work. The rear would effectively be about 4.8%. 45 is the sweet spot, Mario had to order a roll for me as it's rather uncommon.

You and PCMike are miles over my head on this one, and you got my attention. 😎

I need an education on tints. Talk amongst yourselves and I will follow. I'm guessing I want my side windows to match the factory tint, plus tint on the roof and hatch glass. I'm leaning towards Xpel.

I really appreciate this forum.
Cheers

I got some new information to add, but first let me explain. So when a car comes factory tinted you multiple that window’s VLT by the VLT of the film you’re considering putting on top of it and divide by 100. For example, it’s well known the MY rears and back are “tinted” (within the glass not a film on top) and have a VLT OF 24 and the fronts have no tint whatsoever. So if you use Xpel XR Plus 5 on the front, which has a true VLT of 5 and you want the rears to match you would need to bump up the film you put on the rear to Xpel XR Plus 20, which has a VLT of 18. This would give you ~4.32 on the rears which is close the 5 on the front.

I received some new information with regards to the roof…. apparently the roof is essentially a 5 from the factory AND DOES IN FACT reject heat! You can see that in these post below…
