FSD was offered for sale as an investment opportunity. It was seriously communicated that it was not a finished product and that there would be opportunities to participate in a Beta test program if you wished. You might not be chosen for the test program and if you were chosen, you might be dropped out of it at Tesla's option.
This was an interesting lottery ticket with a pretty stiff price, $2,000 to $15,000 depending upon when, but on the other hand, the odds of winning were perhaps much better than a more typical lottery ticket. I have it and don't feel ripped off at all. I've been writing computer programs for around 73 years and fully understand the 3 steps forward and 2 steps backward effect of fixing errors and omissions. Some of the things FSDb does are pretty aggravating, but I remain optimistic that it will be worth far more than I paid for it. If I don't live long enough to enjoy the finished product, the grandson who inherits the car probably will.
