Not sure why they are looking at cars. Wasn't HW4 planned for the cybertruck rollout?
Tesla may not consider this configuration HW4. They might call it HW3.5, with the main difference being that it has FSD Computer V2?

Posted now- tl;dr is they claim no added cams on SEXY cars, but yes for CT and Semi-- all HW4 cams are higher resolution, starting with S/X, coming to all cars by end of summer. Internal answer on upgrades remains a no currently.
Also the X they claimed a few days ago was delivered with HW4...wasn't.
It sounds like the employees are saying additional camera locations are coming some number of months from now, so far it's only higher resolution cameras in the usual spots. The additional cameras will start on the Cybertruck, then the S/X, and then 3/Y.
Cameras can theoretically be retrofitted into the new spots down the line if the vehicle is set up for HW4.

Tough to do with different HW3 and HW4 processor performance, eventual higher HW4 camera resolution, possible added radar, and different collected data. The team needs to cut HW3 and run if they want to have time and resources to optimize HW4.
It's always possible they plan to continue to collect and save 2 different sets of data for HW3 and HW4 especially if camera positions change.

I think the NHTSA recall on FSD will help ensure resources continue working on HW3 and it's not just left to the wayside.

It would have been nice if he cited the source himself in his thread, rather than retweeting it after someone else had to find the source themselves.
Also interesting that TeslaFi is reporting this vehicle as Autopilot Version 0, or "No AP." TeslaFi.com Firmware Tracker
I think it's listed as AP0 because they don't check for AP4, yet.

They also call the forward facing camera unit "Bi - Forward Facing Camera", implying it is only two cameras. Still unclear whether the third thing in the unit is a dummy camera, or another type of sensor.
