How do I tell if I have HW3 of HW4?

- Look at options on the build sticker.
- The lights/cameras on the front finders look different.
Yes, sorry, meant 2023. Additional Vehicle Information under Controls and Software does not specify Hardware. It shows Modem 2G/3G/4G but nothing like H3 or H4. Sorry, again, but where do I find the build sticker?

The sticker does not say anything, but the appearance conforms to your H4 cameras pictured above. And, I now have it on good inside authority that all Ys built after May, 2023 have H4.

Isn't there one less forward facing camera as well on HW4? You can shine a flashlight into the windshield housing and check.

It has a much wider field of view horizontally. Presumably for better FSD maneuvers like merging on short cloverleafs.

From a drivers perspective the side cameras still show you a similar field of view (when using the backup camera view or when the turn signal is on), and HW4 is quite a bit better in terms of rear and side camera quality. Anecdotal, obviously, based on limited experience but they seemed really nice to me.

For me it was simple when I bought the (brand new not demo, not used) MYP two months ago. I asked the Tesla dude at delivery: is this the HW4 ? He looked at me funny and said “every model Y delivered since six months ago” is HW4. That did it for me case closed. Maybe I trust what people say too much. Not sure
