Ha! Leaving for Florida myself on 3/30 and was hoping for the same thing. I configured on 3/5, so I knew it would be a stretch but was hoping some Midnight Silver cars might be sitting around the Fremont lot waiting for an owner. But, like you, I’m not taking it that far without some protection first.
Luckily my guy said I could drive it to his shop on the evening of 3/31 (the day before Easter) and he could get the Xpel, Ceramic Pro and window tint done by the following Thursday, right before we leave for Florida. I'll just have to take it back after our trip to black out the chrome.

I'm now scheduled for 3/31 at 1:00 PM.

There's a bit of "Two years to the day" that makes me like the 3/31 delivery date, and I admit that there's a part of me that thought "I was first in line on the right hand side in Charlotte, so I wish I could've gotten it scheduled for 10:00 AM to make it exactly two years."

Yes, I fully realize how nerdy that sounds, but I'm okay with it. :D

So I was looking at the invite spreadsheet and of the 106 people who configured on or after 2/22 and that have VINs assigned, only 25 (23%) have a scheduled delivery date.

Since Tesla is trying to deliver as many vehicles as possible before the end of the quarter, I'd think they would have more scheduled delivery dates assigned. I'm sure, like me, a high percentage of those with VINs have their Delivery Profile pages 100% complete and would be willing to take delivery in a few days. What could be the reason they are not scheduling more delivery dates?

Side note: Visited my local delivery center (Bellevue, WA) and found 5-6 Model 3s in the parking lot. I found one with my configuration that was only 12 VINs lower than mine. Unfortunately it had a "Factory Gated" sign hanging in the window. This concerns me a bit. Should it?

Don't know if it's the same for everyone, but I received my delivery date shortly after being able to pay from my ISA. I didn't hear from a delivery specialist until yesterday, and they basically just said to be on time for my scheduled delivery tomorrow because there would be group orientation.

I paid $30K via my account link 3 days ago and still no new information about delivery (I’m close to Fremont). The only update I got was Monday and my ISA said this should move quickly. Every day this week we emailed and he said he has no new info. Ridiculous, if you ask me. Once more than $30K has exchanged hands, it’s time to provide some service and info. I’m really annoyed.

Tesla does not want to schedule deliveries for nonexistent cars. Scheduling deliveries is easy. Manufacturing a bunch of cars is where Tesla is struggling.
Are you saying VINs that have been assigned do not correspond to completed vehicles? It is my impression that VINs assigned correspond to produced vehicles. I guess that could be where I (and others) could be wrong.

Non-owner question: what is an ISA? I’m assuming it’s an Inside Sales Advisor (based on googling Tesla + ISA), but what is that, exactly? I have my VIN, but I haven’t been contacted by anyone yet, and when I called to inquire about a delivery date, the person I spoke to couldn’t tell me anything about my vehicle, while others have reported being told that their car is at the port, on a train, etc. Does everyone get assigned an ISA, or only previous owners? And how does an ISA differ from an “owner advisor” (term the phone rep used), or a delivery specialist? Thanks!

Yes, ISA = Inside Sales Advisor. Every order gets assigned to an ISA. If you only just got your VIN very recently you may not have been assigned an ISA yet. It was 4 days after my VIN assignment that I finally received my first email from my ISA. From what I’ve seen so far the ISA handles the bulk of your order. They answer any questions you have, make sure you have submitted all of the correct info and documentation, schedule your delivery appointment and are your main point of contact for your order. I was also assigned a Delivery Specialist who my ISA said would be my point of contact regarding the actual physical delivery of my Model 3. I’m guessing “owner advisor” is another term for ISA.

I should have added a detail. Once it asked for payment, I informed them I didn't feel comfortable paying without a scheduled delivery date. Within minutes, I had a scheduled delivery date.

I don't have a VIN but I do have an "owner advisor" assigned. I think here everyone says ISA but Tesla calls them "owner advisor". I needed to change something on my payment and was told only the owner advisor can do that. The person I spoke to mentioned my owner advisor by name specifically so I must already be assigned. Still no call but as long as they aren't in a rush to change, then I am no rush. I am sure it is just notes for the owner advisor. I doubt it matters until I get my VIN. Bottom line is I think they assign to an owner advisor ahead of time but as there is no need to contact until after we get the VIN, we don't hear from them. I have seen some say the year from their ISA right away; some not for a few days. My guess for delivery specialist is a separate person who only arranges the delivery portion of the deal.

Got a VIN Friday, ISA email this morning. I wrote back a few questions and she said she'd be in touch soon with more details. I presume that means she's looking into logistics of when the car can be delivered to me and finalizing paperwork.

ISA is Inside Sales Advisor (per their signature in their emails, etc). This is the only person I've had communication with so far and taking delivery on 3/31, all documentation, etc is complete except e-signing the MVPA and Tech CU handing them the money.

Owner Advisor is an in store person that handles sales, test drives, etc. If you go into a store and do a test drive and are interested in buying, this is who you would be going through.
See this job description of Owner Advisor

Delivery Specialist is the person that handles the transfer of the car to you at the store. My ISA said they would be assigned just before delivery.

Sure would like to hear from an ISA. VIN was assigned 3/7, almost two weeks ago. Crickets.

They're probably not in a big rush with your order since the car needs to be shipped to Hawaii which I'm pretty sure takes even longer than them shipping a car from Fremont to the East coast. They're focusing on mostly CA orders from now till the end of the quarter to try and bring their end of the quarter delivery numbers as high as possible. Have you contacted Tesla to see if you have at least been assigned an ISA?
