I notice that the predicted delivery date has slipped another month. Looks like we won't get them until the snow flies. :frown: Unless of course this is another "fizzle" of a winter.

Those of us in the region of the Great Lakes are in for a cruddy winter. I read a report saying the temperature of Lake Michigan is 10° above average, which means it will throw up a crap-ton more moisture this winter, causing a whole lot of lake effect snow for those lucky enough to be close to the lake shore.

Luckily, my Model S probably won't get here until late March, so I'll be just squeaking by without having to put on snow tires until November 2013

I haven't changed my order at all, and was just moved from September to October, and I'm about 300 cars ahead of you. I had asked Tesla specifically to let me know if my estimated delivery changed from my MVPA (which said September), and they were nice enough to do so yesterday. If you write them and ask, I'm sure they would update you to October as well and possibly say "October/November". Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!
Ahh, fair enough. I was starting to wonder if I got passed over somehow. I looked over the paperwork again tonight and noticed that the estimate wasn't really worth much.

I'll change my assumption to October. Appears like they'll really hafta hustle to get 5000 out by end of year. The 30 days to delivery notice (plus HPWC) are the important metrics for me now.

Very excited. Had my wife on the phone as I clicked through so there'd be no chance for later miscommunication.

Wife: Wait! You were talking about a car? I thought it's our new living room furniture!!!

P.S. My wife is Canadian and she's gonna be owner of the new car. Any help on how to enter the *ahem* negotiations? my desired config is white, 60kWh, kid seats, pano, 19"ers, air susp. Unknown pricing for EU and 3 phase charging.

the moment you declared the proceeding to be negotiation, you lost. Give her what she wants and you'll be back on the bright-side-of-life

and as long as I'm making a ignorable post for this discussion; I'll just mention, I'm jealous as hell of you guys getting these cars. My financial situation precludes it, but measures anxiously against the Gen III release 3 years from now. I hope you guys 'n gals appreciate how (deservingly) lucky you are.
and here's to all of you (sips on a cheap Chateau Ste Michelle dry Riesling in salute)

Soo... a little while after getting "the email", I was contacted by a Tesla "configuration specialist" to make an appointment.

Has anyone here done that? What's that all about? Is it a phone conference or face-to-face? I was kind of expecting to do it all online, but certainly don't mind a little handholding with these sums involved.

(If this is too far off-topic, mods feel free to kick me to a different thread.)

"The old way" (<= June?) was that you could do some of your configuration on line and finish if off by phone+email.
"The new way" (>= July?) is that you can do much (all?) of it online.

I believe you can do whichever mixture of online/email/phone you prefer.

Mine was in June (I think, I could check...) and I configured online, had some phone conversation, was sent a PDF by e-mail, faxed it back, got confirmation by e-mail, and double-checked online status (it said "Reserved" instead of "...building...") by phone.

Absolutely every step of the new process can be done online, including e-signing the paperwork. Some buyers will surely appreciate discussing their configuration with a live customer service rep, but I didn't see the need personally.

Right. There's not much that hasn't been discussed at length if you've been reading the forums regularly. Really the only things that need verification are the subjective aspects (paint colour, paint armour, trim), the things you have to try (headroom, f/trunk sizes), and the logistics (delivery, etc.). Only the last requires discussion with a customer service rep.

Yep! For me, maybe when Gretzky and the Oilers won the cup in '84. Anyway, just finalized Cdn Sig #111 -- Performance, Grey, Pano, Tan, Lacewood, Armor. Clicked the box for Solar City to contact me (curious what will happen, I don't think they are in Canada). Very excited. Had my wife on the phone as I clicked through so there'd be no chance for later miscommunication.

Now the waiting really begins!

Eh, did you say GREY? And did you say SIGNATURE? Does that mean that Canadian Sigs can already be chosen in other colours than Signature Red, White, Black and Silver? Or did you mean 'Silver' when you said 'Grey'?

(Here's hoping for a full colour choice for European Sigs)

Just locked in my Canadian Tesla Model S, Signature Performance (Res: S#146)... Was told delivery, end of Nov or early Dec /12. Can hardly wait!

Congrats as well, from the west coast! Curious, did an actual human say LATE Nov. EARLY Dec.? The online system seemed to just say Nov/Dec for all of us.

BTW, I locked-in Canadian SSL #2 last evening, using my iPhone, sitting in my Roadster, in a BC Ferries parking lot-- seemed so appropriate for a BC Tesla guy!

For another data point, I just finalized my order for P2747, and the delivery date says November/December.

P85, Blue/Black, Pano, tech package, sound studio, CF interior/spoiler, grey wheels, parcel shelf)

Just finalized my order as well. I'm P3112 and got the same delivery date estimate: November/December 2012. Tesla specialist said manufacturing is still on schedule for 5,000 deliveries this year.

Configuration: 60 kWh pack, Dolphin Grey exterior, tan interior w/ matte Obeche wood, 19" wheels, air suspension, tech package, sound studio, parcel shelf.

I'm hoping for delivery on my birthday: Dec 31st.
