Model S Delivery Dates and Sequencing

I must admit, it is a little frustrating seeing reservations in the 10,xxx getting delivery windows. I'm a 60kWh reservation holder and expected Tesla to catch us up once they put them into production. It doesn't look like that will happen. There are folks before me who don't have windows either. Not good Tesla....not good!

My mistake 11,xxx

I don't think many people expected them to completely stop production of 85kWh until they caught up. I'm sure they'll catch up soon enough, we're only 2 weeks into the 60kWh production.

Delivery window Jan 29-Feb 12. Details below. Very excited.

 Hmmm that's interesting. Similar config but several thousand spots behind me.
Sure would be nice to get a window. My refresh button is probably starting to wear out.

On another note, what happened to the orders from Gisli Gislason of Iceland:
Exclusive: Iceland entrepreneurs on fast track for electric car revolution | MNN - Mother Nature Network

I hardly see numbers from 4000-6000 here or am I just imagining things. And yes I know I just mentioned a res span of 2000 and the dude from Iceland supposedly ordered 1000.

.

Yes, but you did switch configs. They say that cars get built in the order that the configs get sent to the factory, and your config got sent to the factory on 12/17 along with people in the #11000 range. Of course BleedsOn says they didn't sign the MVPA until a week or so later, so who knows.

I read in the teslamotors.com forum to call the number in "your order is complete" email. I did so and he was able to tell me the dates and activate the delivery button in my MY Tesla page. That's all it took. Yours may be ready too. I don't have a VIN yet and he thought that's maybe why I hadn't seen the button yet. YMMV

I'm guessing mine is sitting right there next to yours queuing up for the next truck up this way. I emailed my product specialist and left a message with my DS to find out. I'll post if I hear anything new.

Alright! Got the call from my DS. Pleasant surprise - my car is already here in Seattle. VIN 3278 scheduled for delivery Thursday 1/17.

Been waiting for this day since Dec 2011.

P2984 - VIN: 5YJSA1CG3DFP03748

Now being quoted to exit production on 1/19, with estimated delivery in Austin by 1/31 and perhaps earlier.

Nice to finally get the dates... now off to get financing and wire some big bux!
I see you have a silver/black/silver 21" configuration. You won't be dissapointed - you'll feel like James Bond when you get your Model S! Best of luck with your delivery process - ours was supurb. Steve.

85KW, Dec email and still no ViN :( That being said, I am VERY happy for all that are getting ViNs and hope to see a lot more. Congrats ladies and gents.

I'm thrilled that it seems the 60kW orders are getting pushed back to their rightful place in line, but I'm very much less-than-thrilled when people in the 10,000's are already scheduling their deliveries. I feel the whole "batching" excuse is complete and utter nonsense. I can understand batching being off by a few hundred, maybe even a thousand, but to convince me that someone in the 10,000's has a config unique enough to justify the production of that car makes my skepticism siren wail.

Yup I've been reading the same suggestions here. I've been calling that number every Monday. I'm probably going to start calling twice per week after hearing being proactive is better.
I only have a 30 day lock for the financing I'm looking to get so it'd be nice to have more than a 2 month window.

I can confirm that calling the number works. I'm P10267, received finalize email 12/3, and pre-MVPA was countersigned 12/28. I've been checking for my delivery button every day and nothing. Just called the number and received a window 1/26-2/9 and the delivery button was manually activated. No VIN yet. Config is 85kwh and air suspension.

Did you have a February - March window initially? I was going to try avoiding calling as long as possible, but it seems several people on here who finalized after me are getting delivery dates...

i have learned that delivery windows mean nothing. they probably gave you that just to appease you.

getting the VIN # is what is important. that's when you can be sure your car is actually being made, and that you are weeks away from getting it.

i have no VIN.

Of course the frustrating thing is that lack of a VIN number doesn't mean your car isn't being made. Some people seem to only get their VIN number just as the car is finished.
