Agree! Our sister cars are in Production Queue Limbo & I fear that I am to blame.
i had a reservation for a Model X & jumped ship, now I must be punished.
I'm so sorry that you are suffering too! ๏̯͡๏
Well, I also jumped ship on my Model X reservation. I guess we are being punished together! ugh.

Finally, delivered! (Full timeline in my signature below)
70D | VIN 99394 | Midnight Silver Metalic | Pano | Autopilot | Subzero | Piano Black | 19" | Coil
Ordered: 7/24, Confirmed 7/31, In Production 8/19, Production Complete 8/23, Delivered 9/29

Holy Moley! and I've been feeling whiny cuz my not-loaded 90D has been languishing in the queue since 9-11.
Congrats on your delivery and on your stalwart patience!
I guess I need to get out the crocheting and put away the iPad for awhile, with the MX event and rush I might be waiting until Christmas!

My delivery date status changed from the truly ambiguous "Late October - November" to "October 20, 2015 - November 3, 2015" sometime last night. Had to have happened after midnight (eastern time) since I was checking periodically before and after the Model X event was streamed.

My car entered production sometime between 0215 and 0420 CDT or 0015-0240 PDT last night. (I too was checking status obsessively after watching the MX streaming event. So much for that crocheting idea.)

I'm a little concerned that the night shift is making my car. No offense, but I work an off shift & know how much screwing around sometimes happens after the boss goes home.

Would you mind providing your vin? I'm curious how much closer they are to production on mine.. ;)

Thanks,
LK

VIN 108404
At least one other MS 90D ordered on 9-11 started production on the 28th (JenniferQ, see above thread) but her car is loaded MC red. My blue boy has relatively few options, I have heard they are batched by color & basic config, imagine similar options would be grouped somewhat too.

Here's hoping your car is built soon, LinuxKidd! (ô‿ô)

VIN 108404...
Thanks!

Ah, ya.. I'd read that before but had forgotten it... I (up till now) had again thought they just proceeded through the VINs in numerical order, but clearly that's not the case since JenniferQ was 5 higher than yours and went earlier.

Here's hoping your car is built soon, LinuxKidd! (ô‿ô)
Thanks! I keep telling people I'm like a kid at Xmas, but I don't know when Xmas is going to be!

Here's hope'n that everyone's order is magically completed and delivered on one night very soon! ;)

@JenniferQ – If you are like most of us, you spent a lot of time anguishing over the color choices and options you selected - so I thought I would share! Yesterday I took delivery of an S 90D with the same exterior accouterments (MC Red/21” Gray) as well as the Matte Obeche wood inside (which does not appear to be very common so hard to get a good look at in the wild). First of all, initial reaction: When we were led behind closed doors to the delivery studio, there were 4 MS’ parked in the room – all 4 diff colors. The Red absolutely jumped off the page at us. I mean it was gorgeous sitting in a room full of metallic Midnight Silver and Black on Black cars…Don’t get me wrong, I like both of those as well, but the MC Red is stunning – especially with the massive Gray turbines. I had a little anxiety walking in hoping I had made a good choice having gone out of my comfort zone with the bright paint. Trust me – NO REGRETS! By far the best color combo IMHO – and there were 15 Model S’ lined up out front with pretty much every color combo.

I would also note that the matte Obeche is really a nice look. If you don’t want a glossy look (i.e., fingerprints), this looks like a piece of raw wood integrated into the dash. I was skeptical, but this is awesome.

As for the process, it took us about 90 mins. 10-15 min signing paperwork before being handed off to a second delivery specialists to handle the walk-through. 45-60 mins with him and about 5 mins with a Service Specialist outlining the maint. schedule and optional plans, and we were whisked out front to our new chariot! We were offered all of the time we needed to take pics before and after and to ask any questions. Great experience.

One caveat (curious if others had this experience): Jumping in the car on your own and driving away that first time would be best described as “sensory overload”. An insatiable appetite to monitor all of the telemetry and tweak settings, while navigating rush hour traffic, was a bit of a challenge. I would recommend getting your appetite quenched in the parking lot for 30 mins before departing. My wife was screaming at me the whole way home to “keep your eyes on the road”.

New car. Same wife! :-D

@AZ_Doug - That is so good to hear! I have another car that is a beautiful Tour de France blue and chose the red because, yes, I love color, and I thought they would look great together. I actually didn't really anguish much over the exterior color! My hubby wanted me to go with the more conservative Gray/Black combo that he always gets, but this is my car and he can suck it when he wants to drive it. I'm sure he'll be getting his own soon enough anyway after he drives mine a few times.

I'm so glad that you are happy with your choice. I have that matte wood in my current gas-guzzling MB and love the look. I abhor fingerprints and worry a bit about those door handles, but figure I can get them blacked out somehow if necessary, but I love the clean look of them as is so may have to just carry a cloth around with me everywhere I go.

Enjoy your baby and keep your eyes on the road! Although once the AP kicks in you won't even have to do much of that...

Thanks JQ! Funny you mention the door handles. Every time I walk out to the garage now the first thing I notice is the finger prints on the handles. My OCD requires I lift the tail of my shirt and buff them out before entering. Wonder if I could get those painted to match the gray turbines? :)
