i tried to upgrade my car to a 60D but they said they couldnt do it, so I will be saving money and stick with a 60, in so cal... someone tell me the car will still be fun to drive
My first S was a 60, I drove it for 3 years, 49,000 miles. I still miss it, even though i now drive a new 90D. You will love it.

Here is my Pearl White 75D.

Confirmed 5/18
Entered Production 6/2
Finished Production 6/7
Delivery 6/28

The name is Shadowfax.

No swag at delivery, but otherwise an amazing experience. I've already driven hundreds of miles on autopilot. I absolutely love this car and will never buy and ICE vehicle again.

To quote Ferris, "If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."

thanks for the words guys!

heres another question for us constantly refreshing the status for their tesla, At what Time does the status update chage for each step?

You'll find experiences are too different to be certain.......I received three emails,' entered production/production completed/in transit', all within the same day and MyTesla never updated until after it was parked in the garage. Cut yourself some heart-relief and expect a custom built and amazing car sometime within 60 days end2end. Unlikely to accomplish that with any other manufacturer much less get interim real time updates. Oh, and if you really get anxious, our international friends/owners have to wait many many months for their Teslas. See how lucky you are already?

My car is at the delivery center and I still haven't received my finalized MVPA yet. Is that normal?

I traded a vehicle to them last weekend and I told my delivery specialist the reason I wanted to execute the trade early was so I could make sure I could remit payment and finalize financing. My delivery specialist doesn't seem particularly helpful.

Overall, I would say I've had a positive experience, but this part has been somewhat frustrating. It being a holiday weekend, I'm guessing the chances of me getting the vehicle before Tuesday are pretty slim at this point.

If they'd just generated the MVPA earlier this week, I could've easily handled all of the financial stuff. Payments would've cleared prior to the weekend, and I could've picked up the car a few days earlier.

Are my expectations out of line here? When did others get their MVPA?

I never did get any emails and just saw that it had entered production, had been built and was in transit etc. Seems like we all get different experiences. :^) Hang in there, once it hits production it will all come together fro you really fast!!!

I didn't get my MVPA until they called to schedule delivery. But since I already had my ducks in a row, it was just a minute to forward that on to the loan officer and their payment was on the way via FedEx, no problem.

I imagine that's how it works most of the time. My frustration is that if they'd just generated the MVPA as soon as my trade was completed, I could've handled all of that stuff electronically before the vehicle was even put on a truck for delivery.

I've been really impressed by how much of this process was handled electronically.... I just didn't expect to get caught up in red tape right at the finish line.

There's definitely room for improvement there, I agree. I got a pro forma MVPA via email from my DS when delivery was scheduled, and my lender took that doc and didn't require the final MVPA. I can't recall how much time later it was before I received final MVPA.

I'm in a no

I'm in a non-direct sale state. They requested my trade in 2 weeks before delivery. The final MVPA did not get generated until 3 business days later. A couple two days after that (a week after trade in), I get the temporary registration. My loan was finalized the same day. They're not as concerned about getting docs out since they know you're not backing out once they get your trade in. When your My Tesla page gives you payment options, you're really close.

That doesn't appear to be too bad right now (at least not for me, being in The Netherlands).
Ordered mine on 5/25; got confirmed on 6/6 (we have a confirmation period of two weeks that apparently cannot be accelerated anymore). It's has left the factory, but isn't on the boat from New York to Rotterdam yet. Current estimated delivery is End July - August. Assuming no delays in transport, that would be within 3 months. That's still pretty quick.

Going for my first test drive here in Dallas today!!!!!

Going to ask for a 24 hour test drive to decide if the space is what I need for a family of 4 with 2 kids under 4 years old or is the X going to be an option which I'd prefer the S.

Wish me luck in joining this thread soon!!!!
Let me know about that 24 hour test drive, i'm at the NorthPark store and would be interested if this is something they would allow. Thanks.

Has anyone ordered the red brake calipers from the online store and had them installed prior to picking up car? This would be for something other than the P90D as that one already includes them. What was the process? I would think that it could be cheaper to have them installed while the car is being built vs afterwards at $2300.

I've ordered the 90D in red and thought they would look great with my 21" grey wheels.
