I figured out what this was for. And now, yet ANOTHER damn thing I've bought for a car I don't yet own!!!

For those that don’t know, the Plaid model at least, comes with a 128gb Tesla thumb drive already. It’s plugged in the glove box slot.

Talked to a customer service rep, we went over the current status and details. The car is away from the factory in actual transit, has an ETA at the SC on 8/29, and we have a delivery appointment set for 9/2. My order page has been updated and reflects this appointment. We’ll see how it goes from here.

I park in a public garage (airport) for 7-10 days for work, I figured I needed some extra storage space for the gigs of data this thing is gonna record!!

Ask them what the scheduled arrival date is. Now that it is in transit, they can give you that info. Whenever your EDD changes, call back and ask for the scheduled arrival date again.

When the arrival date happens, call and verify it has arrived at the SC. At that time, any SA you talk to can schedule your delivery appointment. This is how I got through my process from VIN assignment to scheduled appointment.

It definitely will. Good choice with an SSD. If it came with a USB-C cord, just plug that sucker in the console and forget about it.

About the same as I said above. Haven’t tested with a meter, but obviously darker and more heat rejection than my 3. Built in human meter used; my arm and eyes!

Rhode Island law says no more than 70% tint, and you have to have a front license plate. So tomorrow I am removing the front license plate and dropping it off for 35% tint on Saturday.

I'm going full Texas-legal. Limo tint behind the drivers compartment and legal tint in front. Too damn hot in the summer

My thoughts are that maybe you could find some covers for those lug nuts, similar to the ones Tesla sell for the M3 18" Aero Wheels.

You are correct in your observation. I’ve never dealt with Tesla, and have no idea what to expect, and don’t want any complications borking my delivery. Also, their trade in valuation was done purely on the pictures I provided and a few check boxes stating there is no major damage etc. They did not even ask me to drive down to their service center, and refused to take the trade prior to delivery. Granted, I uploaded very high resolution, high quality unprocessed pictures, and the car looks great and runs great. I have simply never traded or sold a car in such a modern manner like this.

That's how it works now w most of these online tradeins. I sold mine on Carvana and no questions asked pickup and instant check. They have an algorithm based on risk. They make the offer. It's good. Unless you falsified the pictures you're good

I don’t think you have to go that dark to get a lot of heat rejection nowadays. You can go lighter and maintain good night visibility.
