If the test vehicle has a normal wheel at this stage there's no way it's not going to production. They aren't gonna YOLO a completely new production drive control in 2 weeks.

Looks like the basic Model 3 steering wheel more than anything else, and nothing like the new Benz wheels at all.

I like how integrated the screen looks, however, doesn't look like it could tilt right/left as described.
The yoke is a wheel with the top lopped off. What sort of complicated engineering goes into that “completely new production drive control” to create massive complication? It’s cosmetic. They aren't gonna YOLO a completely new production drive control in 2 weeks.

What is there for an automaker to “test” with a different shaped steering input?I'm sure the judge will buy that explanation after the first accident when they sue and Tesla has to admit they didn't test it at all.
I wonder if the larger cameras in the front fenders are to give a better view for 360” surround vision?

I get that people don’t like it and think it’s the most dangerous thing to hit the road since the Pinto, but I don’t understand how that relates to your original post and what you expect needs to actually be done to replace a round wheel with a not round one.
I wonder where this was taken in Ohio, this actually could be for crash test ratings, anytime they change things they have to crash test and Ohio is one of the main locations for that.
All I'm saying is if you're going to reinvent the steering wheel on a car that's literally supposed to be coming out this week you would be road testing it. This is literally the first one we've seen and there's no yoke.
Given the front fenders are confirmed to be physically wider, I doubt it.I don't think I have seen anyone bring this up yet... but I wonder if the front bumper is retro-fittable. I am not sure if I like the new one better than the current, but having it being an option would be cool.
It is literally the only one we've seen...
Mechanical buttons are so NOT Tesla.
