But we've only seen one verified VIN, one verified intel MCU....I mean, I hope you're right, but that might be a bit prematureI'm willing to bet the crossover point was VIN 245000 - All the Intel MCU cars have VINs above this number.
We've only seen 1 VIN so far, no?I'm willing to bet the crossover point was VIN 245000 - All the Intel MCU cars have VINs above this number.
Yea that sucks. The reddit OP replied my question about when the car was produced. It's also a Feb production. But we've only seen one verified VIN, one verified intel MCU....I mean, I hope you're right, but that might be a bit premature
From the reddit thread:
"Wow interesting. I have a vin 2460xx and it seems to have the older one produced 2/23 (also with lighted vanity). Two qualms are my screen is S-L-O-W and the UHFS sounds worse than my wife's honda I will test out the benchmark today and check 5G."
More than likely has to do with production timeline
yea, bummer. Missed it by less than 100 cars :/
I wouldn’t be surprised if it could be retrofitted, mostly to simplify replacement if/when it fails.
So anyone wanna try to reach out to Tesla to ask about retrofitting?
Why bother asking.. I say go directly the CAL route !So anyone wanna try to reach out to Tesla to ask about retrofitting?
Yea, i have PUP on my car. If his car was produced on 2/18, i’d be really surprised if it were that different. I wonder what firmware version he’s on.Did you have PUP added? would be super helpful to know if the updated MCU is linked to any added options.
Car on reddit produced 2/18.
That's Feb 2018, doesn't mean it's 2/18/18. The door doesn't show the day, just month.Yea, i have PUP on my car. If his car was produced on 2/18, i’d be really surprised if it were that different. I wonder what firmware version he’s on.
That's great news for the new MCU, but I have a feeling that will be the nail in the coffin for retrofitting unless you can just retrofit the MCU without a wifi change to go with it. That'd be a new wifi antenna in the mirror housing, if not a replacement for the wifi card altogether.
Which is also about the same time they pushed back all deliveries worldwide to JuneThis statement came back to my mind:
"Bloomberg reports that the company paused production from Feb. 20 to Feb. 24 at its assembly plant in Fremont, Calif., where it also makes the Model S sedan and Model X SUV"
Could you highlight the differences?Old driver's side antenna:
New antenna(s):
Look closely and u see the mirror interior has changed too
There was one strip antenna on it before, and now there's 2. The smaller one would be for 5GHz.Could you highlight the differences?
