You assume your route goes past a supercharger - otherwise it's a variable detour. Why does everyone think you need to get to your destination and back home without charging? I can understand this if you’re commuting 5 days a week. But for the odd journey, a couple times of year, surely stopping for 20 minutes isn’t going to kill you? I’ve never had a problem of using a SUC, always been one available whenever I’ve turned up and always working.
Don’t shout!
Any UK Model X LR on order with any news : Dates (Even rough months etc)
I ordered in March this year (2021) and can’t remember what the lead time was on the UK site when I ordered.
UK site says “End of 2022” but I am positive when I ordered mine it was not the end of 2022.
I would of still ordered it if it was, but as I said I’m confident it was earlier.
I am thinking it was June 2022, delivery
Has anyone else UK ordered around March this year?
You could order a 2021 refresh MS and MX until a few weeks ago when Tesla dropped the ability to order outside the Americas. It was news at the time.
Nobody really knows why, I’ve read there’s a fair amount of US inventory available for immediate delivery and there’s been sightings of a new rear including lights thought to accommodate CCS suggesting they were working on the changes we’d need - maybe it’s tied to factories or they don’t know how much they’re going to cost to make (maybe new batteries, different factory, other changes) and so don’t want to set a price whereas US can be delivered from an existing facility with known costs.
That still doesn't men that the total order numbers and logistics of a few per country would trigger Tesla to botherSo many countries, in almost all continents use RHD, I doubt they would not make an RHD Model S/X.
S&X were used to generate rapid profit to get the next stage up and running and get the name out. This is not a Car company when you compare them to other marques that have dozens of models and variations. This is a money and vanity business with the customer being a nuisance? My concern is that I reserved a long range MS for 2022/23 some time ago at the lower price [still high], I worry that Tesla will only deliver to newer orders at the present higher price of this model, at £10k more. If I wish to change colour of my car on order, tat cats £10k to change - it's a new order. How rude of them.
I read they have done this in USA.
This company seems to treat their existing customers, often early adopters, very badly.
Hopefully that will change as other makers ramp up battery supply and the chip shortage goes away. But a 9mths BMW wait is likely more reliable than a Tesla 'sometime'.If the charging infra structure was better I would be ordering a different make of car. However, I was in BMW dealership today, looking at 9 months wait for a new EV model.
I doubt it - the new factories are set up to be automated as much as possible for the volume vehicles (3 and Y). The X doesn't sell enough to warrant the investment in the assembly line needed.Presumably these will be built in Germany? Does that align with other people's views?
