Model X September Deliveries

Congrats to everyone picking up their new X's! Sounds like they are ramping up production and delivery to bump up numbers before the end of this quarter.

It's widely known that Tesla prioritizes production of higher cost orders. I wonder if they prioritize delivery to customers who are able to provide them with as much cash as possible, i.e. pay by cash, pay by loan, large deposit, trade-ins, and so on, to boost the quarterly earnings report. Would make business sense.

I guess I am confused then as to why they are called "delivery specialists" if they are not present for delivery.
Have tweeted @elonmusk with a reference back to this page - link to tweet.

Hopefully he stumbles on it. I really think Tesla's customer and delivery experience was one of their clear differentiators. But it has since not been able to sustain the bar they set for themselves. I hope it is just growing pains and they will refocus on this.

One can hope.

When we started our purchase, we were introduced - via email - to a team that will be taking care of us. The main DS was the main point of contact until delivery, but at delivery she was not there, but another person from the team introduced to us at beginning was there.
Wondering if maybe a similar situation happened? Otherwise it might have been bad communication on the delivery teams' part.

I am just guessing the delivery specialist is your main point of contact (tracking, delivery schedule, payment, questions, etc.), but the actual delivery "experience" specialist could be someone else who will walk you through the car etc.

I picked up my Model X 60D last night. From order to delivery was about 5-6 weeks.

First off, thanks to everyone this forum for posting things to look out for when taking delivery.

I guess every service center is different. I had to inspect my car outside near dusk. I thought they were going to drive the car inside a delivery room so I could see it under the lights but I think they were a lot of deliveries that day.

Inspecting the car itself I found several build problems. The passenger side door “handle” chrome was misaligned/bent inward. The trunk was misaligned. Next day I noticed the hood was also misaligned. The left FWD is also misaligned compared to the right FWD which is flush with the right front door. The weather stripping was coming off the driver side door when the window was down. I’m sure there will be more things that come up once I drive it more and see it under the sun. However, I’m not too disappointed, but actually expected these things to pop up (after reading others experiences on this site). The service center will contact us to address the items above.

The most disappointing part about the delivery day was that the tesla employee who was showing us the features of the car was inexperienced and could not answer any of our questions. Without getting into too much detail, this employee was not aware that the key fob opened the FWD. While we got another employee to help us with some of our other questions, we were somewhat skeptical about whether we would get reliable information from anyone there and just decided to leave.

I’m hoping the servicing experience will be a bit better.

Bummer. With the end of quarter mad dash it seems things slipped through the crack for you. I hope they can fix all these in time.

Congratulations! Wow, makes me wonder if they started production before they emailed you...one day, wow! Here's hoping mines the same... DS says week of sept 19th for production, we will see. Good luck to you!!!
Yeah my DS was a little shocked but I guess they've been ramping things up out there.

The sooner they make a Tesla Semi the faster deliveries can be hauled out... hopefully!

Got our beauty yesterday. It went straight to detailer to get wrapped.. (no pics until it is wrapped)
My inspection report is detailed in another post, so will not double post... https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/posts/1756547/

Waiting to get the car for real (6-8 days for full detail/wrap).

Same exact situation here in NY. Hate having to wait another week to drive The Red Devil. But it's pouring here today so it's all good!

We took delivery last Tuesday and have been wishing I had more time to drive it! Fit and finish was great, although a dust leak showed up under the FWDs after driving it down our country road. Tesla service has been very responsive to addressing the issue.

Thanks to all who contributed to this thread and site for keeping me busy while waiting for this amazing ride!

Took delivery on 9/27. Been enjoying the car quite a bit so haven't had a chance to post until today. During the vehicle walkthrough, I did find issues though minor with the car. Have to return to service in 2 weeks to get it fixed. Some of the issue seemed sloppy work. I can't help but believe there were some minor quality slips from the Q3 production push.

Details of the issues are on a separate quality thread so won't double push.

So far I love the car despite a few flaws on quality. Amazing drive quality and the technology is impressive. Autopilot makes me think I live in the future!

Love the picture of your dog. So cute between the two middle seats. I just got weather protection matts and will get my Model X back Friday from paint protection and service most likely. I will share pics of my attempt with a BIG dog in that space.

I just picked up my X! This car is beyond awesome!

v8 hasn't been downloaded yet. DS says they're rolling them out but as it stands, I'm already in love! :p

Fit and finish is actually flawless. :D

Happy to see you got your Model X... curious to know what color is your X. I saw a new one at work and in my neighborhood, just wondering if it could be you!!!
