Hey, Everyone. Instead of just spamming all the threads I've been following, I figured I'd just provide the link to the thread that briefly details my delivery experience.

Austin Build 2023 Quality Tracker

tl;dr - Austin build (PA066*). Car was delivered to my address from the Burbank, CA service center. Number of fit and finish issues for both interior and exterior. Disappointing experience. Lesson learned - do not have the car delivered to you; pick it up at a nearby service center; use the Tesla Prep app.

Tax credit eligibility question as we get closer to March: Is eligibility for the tax credit determined based on the date you place the order, the date on which a VIN is assigned, or the date on which you take delivery of the vehicle? Thank you.

Maybe some perspective? After 449 posts on this thread, there have been 15 deliveries that provided OD & Del Sched - some members said 'I picked mine up' without providing their OD. Looks like OD>Delivery started at about a month, and will stretch from there. Folks like me could have a long wait ahead...

Take delivery. "placed in service" is how the IRS defines it.

Once the battery requirements are defined, they take effect "the next day" according to the IRS:

"Until the day after the Treasury Department and the IRS issue proposed guidance on the critical mineral and battery component requirements"

I don't think I've seen anyone with such a long EDD. Not sure why mine is estimated so damn long.
👋 Same car (minus the tow), ordered late 2/11, being delivered to MD, and have the exact same EDD1 and EDD2.
