Ordered Model X today!

After many hours reading through this forum, playing with the configurator, reading reviews, watching YouTube videos, and generally being obsessed, I have finally ordered my Tesla!

Originally I was going to go for an S, but after reading some of the comparisons on here, and after showing my wife the cars, we have opted for an X, and I for one cannot wait.

We did have to make some compromises - I wanted the white seats, my wife thought they looked awful! We went with cloth. I wanted blue, my wife wanted silver, we both liked midnight so that's what we've ordered.

So, MX75D, 7 seats, PUP and EAP.
Due in October. Now the wait begins!

I was happy to make the compromises as the Mrs has said when my Model 3 comes I can have whatever I want!
(The X will be mine/ family trips until 2019, then we'll buy a 3 for my daily driver, and the X will replace my wife's Qashqai...)

Couple of interesting things to note from the guy we ordered with after our test drive:
  • the 1.5% finance ends on the 10th August so if you're on the fence and considering finance get in quick!
  • the seven seat interior in the U.K. is still 3 monopole seats instead of the bench as they're selling in the US market now. This was a bit of a surprise especially given that the 7 seat option is cheaper than the 6 seat version!

Cannot wait for it to arrive and am pleased to be joining the club!
(if anyone wants a referral code, please let me know, I know there are loads of other ways to get one, but my one is better, honest!!)

On a related note, does anyone know how long the Type 2 cable that has come with orders since April is? Planning charger location...

It is quite long (I appreciate that's not overly helpful) but have you discounted a thethered unit? For me unplugging and stowing away would get very tiresome very quickly. The Tesla unit can also be used to charge two cars which might be very helpful when you get your 3.

Hi, just picked up my MX 100D last week. Exceeds expectations. Build quality seems better than what you would think from reading the forums, I think they have improved it a lot recently (DS told me they shut down X production for a month earlier this year to sort it out).

Just went and mesured my Type 2 cable, it's 7.0 metres long.

Enjoy!

Great to know, glad you're loving it!!
Thanks for the measurement, that's more then enough for what I need!

I have considered it, a lot!

Essentially it's a cost thing. Using a scheme run by Western Power Distribution and the govt. I'm having a charger installed for free...
This means that when the 3 does come along, I'll look to take the free unit off the wall and change to 2x Tesla wall chargers...
But all the wiring will have been done for me by a qualified sparky without me having to pay through the nose for it!

As for the cable, it'll be inside my garage so intending to leave the type2 plugged in permanently and just take the UMC for emergencies... not going to be doing anymore than about 100 miles a day so shouldn't even be an issue and if I am going father I could take the type 2 along...

Thanks for your reply!
Love how active and supportive the Tesla community is!

Congrats on taking the plunge!

I went for same colour on my S - coming in a few weeks and can't wait.

Regarding the 1.5% - take that with a pinch of salt. When I spoke to sales they told me it was ending in a few days and that was back in May. US interest rates are on the rise though so this time it could be true.

Great Forum this is! I have specced my MX75, 7 seater and have a test drive booked tomorrow in London. I'm going for white with white interior. Referral code would be much appreciated!

Anyone else aware of 1.5% finance rate changing tomorrow?
I am about to order a MX and this would make me order today rather than in a couple of weeks as planned as I don't want delivery until early next year.
I was told by the Sales Specialist that it ends on the 10th, but since then some people have told me that they were told the same months ago so possibly a sales tactic? Doesn't strike me as a very Tesla thing to do though...

@Fleetham You can delay your delivery so if it's just that you don't want it til '18 this shouldn't be an issue... you can specify earliest available or later when confirming so that you can match it to your needs i.e. Expiring PCP on a different car...

Hope that helps!

If you do order don't forget to use a referral code! I'd be thrilled if you used mine if you don't already have a Tesla friend! It's in one of the posts above.

I ordered in early October and delayed my car until the end of March. I was worrying towards the end as if it had not been delivered in March the zero car tax and free supercharger (since still available with right referral) would have been lost, so there is a risk as neither of these changes were known when I ordered.
