Ordered S75D Oct 7th

My order was confirmed on the 11th, but I don't see any estimated delivery time frames in my account. My sales rep said it would still be early December, but I was hoping to have that confirmed in my Tesla account. I do have a DS assigned to me who I reached out to, but haven't heard from him yet.

Where should I be looking in my account to find this info? I assumed it would be on the Model S Management page, but alas, no delivery estimates.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply and congrats on your order!

Weird, all I have under the Your Vehicle section is the model of the car, and my VIN number. Nothing else. I guess I'll just wait until I hear back from the DS. Least now I know where to look.

Thanks.

Congrats on your order too. You have a VIN number already? Mine only has my Reservation Number.

You both are in luck. That big of a delay on an S only means one thing... major update or change.

What it is is anyone's guess...

Interior refresh?
AP3.0?
New battery?!

Ooooohhh, an update?! Cool. Being a newb, that makes it more exciting. Hopefully you are correct on the reasoning for the delay. I thought it was longer than expected also.

Congrats on your car- I confirmed a MS75D on 9/29 got a VIN a week after- mytesla says late Nov to Dec My DS shows a date of 12/9
I think the date from the DS is padded but 45 -60 days seems like the norm. We may get delayed if they are updating or pulling resources for the M3. In any case it will be by end of the year. Please post updates if you get any.

Now I am worried.... I ordered on 10/3, it confirmed on 10/6 and I got the VIN once it confirmed....

maybe I am the one that is going to miss out I specifically waited till this month to order just incase ....

or, they issue VIN's in batches, being Mach got his VIN on the 6th too

Just an update. I ordered on 10/7 and confirmed on 10/11. I still have no VIN number. I did, however, receive a call from the assigned "Delivery Experience Specialist" to confirm everything. I forgot to ask if there were any updates happening, but I did ask him about my expected delivery time. My account says December - Early January 2018. The Tesla guy said it will more likely be mid-December. I live about 30 minutes away from the Fremont plant though.

I heard that Tesla fired around 1/4 of workers from assembly line. That makes me worried, as can expect a quality workmanship from disgruntled employees. I may put my car for hold.

They fired about 1-2% of their employees, for poor performance, and plan on replacing them. Here's an article on it. Not sure if it was 1/4 of the assembly line folks.

Tesla fires hundreds of workers

If I was a Tesla worker that wasn't fired, NOW would be the time I would be working HARDER and ensuring I was doing my work better than ever...lest I face being cut.

Ordered and confirmed the same day as you. I still have no VIN and have an estimated delivery date of Late Nov - Early Dec. I'm guessing Tesla considers you "overseas" so your car will be built sooner than the rest. Maybe?

I don't see how Tesla would let an order now go into 2018 for US delivery. For one, they are going to push like mad for year end delivery. Secondly, they also have to squeeze as many out before all the 3 has to pop out. They have the capacity to do this, I think they might just be quoting for safety. If it doesn't get done by 2017, I bet you will see a lot of people look for inventory cars. I know I would

Quick update / rant...

So my account still doesn't show a time frame. My VIN was assigned a day after the order was confirmed. After numerous attempts to contact my DS, I finally got a response. However, the response was simply "As of now, your car has not yet entered production."

He failed to answer any questions or provide any information as to why my account didn't have a time frame. When asked to confirm if what my sales person had estimated for a time frame, or if he might have a guess as to when production might start after a VIN is assigned, he simply ignored me (going on 2 days now).

Has anyone had contact with a DS that was able to provide any useful information?

From now on, I'm referring to my DS as Jon Snow...because he knows nothing!

When I bought my X, I was left in the shadows for a long time. People who ordered after me got their cars before I even got an update. It was "in production" for over a month. Just a lot of mystery and question marks. Finally got the car almost 90 days from order. Only thing is to be patient, it will happen eventually. Just anticipate Dec 31 as that's the end of the quarter, which was when I finally got mine.
