Wow! We placed our Model S order and confirmed it on March 19th, figuring that there'd be no way we'd get the referral bonus. We got the VIN the 20th and the car entered production on the 25th. They finished production on the 31st, and then rushed the car out to us to get us the referral bonus. They loaded it on a truck on the 1st or 2nd and delivered it to us in Chicago yesterday the 4th, with our delivery representative meeting us at the store on a Sunday afternoon to hand us the keys! Great job Tesla!

Or increasing production -- remember the production rate was ramped for Q4/Q1 to accommodate ~40% increase in units for 2016. Hence shorter runway.

Our plan is to use them for overflow, but after riding in them, the kids may have a different viewpoint!

That, and they seem to have a lot of these in inventory right now (42 in blue as of this morning). I wonder if they have built a stockpile of inventory cars to help them meet end of quarter demand or to simply meet demand of the car buyer who wants something "now" or at least very soon...
