Repair/Parts wait times in Australia

Repairer regularly charge it up, it has been with them for 3 months. The man said they had 15 Tesla waiting for parts.
My experiences with Tesla repair services is very negative. Call services hotline, their usual reply are they do not have details on spare part order. One support personal asked me to email [email protected]. Poor repairer said he is on the same boat no knowledge of the ETA. However bits and pieces spare parts are couriered from the States within weeks such Tesla badge, plastic clip, rear mirror etc... waiting for Glasses and bonnet, can't they ship a container of glass to OZ and I am sure it is in great demand.

things got much more ridiculous, Tesla suppose to send the badge to Mirage Perth WA , instead they send it to Victoria, and it will be another week to arrive so I have been told , and I ask them to let me take the car and I will be back for the badge later

Nothing surprises me with Tesla at the moment. My model 3 has been stuck up on the hoist for over a month now because the rear upper control arm wasn't delivered as it seems that it was lost during the delivery process, now my repairer cant get it off the hoist until the new one arrives.

I had my windscreen replaced on the weekend, finally came in.

Unfortunately, pairing the new cameras with the car required the latest software, so I’ve been forced to downgrade to V11 finally (was quite happy staying on V10). Ugh. Hate the climate controls; why for the love of the Flying Spaghetti Monster does it switch on every time one just opens the climate controls pane?! Anyway, plenty of other threads for that but glad the repair was finally done.

Service itself was excellent.

Sent lots of emails, call Tesla customer services , Tesla services department etc none of them can give me status on the parts order. Talked to body repairer and they are so frustrated too as Tesla keep telling customers contact repairer for parts status which they are on the same boat as us. Their means of contact is via email to Tesla, no factory phone number. Repair have to pay for the spares when order parts and currently they had 20 Tesla undriveable sitting at their warehouse, the guy said they haven't received any bulky parts in the past months ( panels, bumpers, glasses etc) and are losing money. Tesla can sell cars but repair it is hopeless.

Well I'm actually surprised with my turn around time on parts. Got a call from the body shop today, car booked in for the end of the month as they have secured a new front bumper. Sending good tesla magic vibes for swift acquisition of replacements for everyone else.

Which tesla approved body shop in Canberra did you go to? Were you happy with final result?

My M3 needs front bumper and headlight replaced because some L plate driver misjudged while trying to park. I wasn't even there was shopping at Costco. NRMA are sending me to Canberra Automotive Refinishers in Belconnen.

Canberra Automotive Refinishers in Belconnon. Top notch. Very happy with the work. Turn around time was two half days.

I am so glad I found this forum! So I just took delivery of my Model Y and 3 days later was in an accident. 😭😭😭😭

I took it to a Tesla certified shop (only 1 in my area) and they said because the panel under the door was dented they were going to have to replace the sheet under the side door and quarter panel. And since it is doubled sheeted, they will have to replace the inner amd outter sheet. 😭😭😭😭

They ordered the parts today and said they would have me bring in my Y once the parts came in and it would take them 30 days to fix!!!

Is that normal? Should it take 30 days to fix?

Regardless of where your Tesla is located, Australia or the USA, damage to the sill panel is a complicated repair, as it’s a vital structural part of the car. In addition as the high voltage battery pack is located very close to the area of repair, it will likely need to be removed before starting work. The car will also need to be on an alignment machine to restore or ensure it remains to factory dimensions whilst they cut out and weld in the damaged panels.
To me it sounds like they are giving themselves a bit of extra time so they can reduce the chances that they don’t disappoint you but such a repair will depend a lot on how busy the specialist equipment is at the time your car is in the body shop. Hopefully your able to drive the car around whilst waiting for the parts to be ordered and hopefully they order all the parts required prior to starting work. Unfortunately you need to plan on a period of time without the car. Good luck.

Moderators note:
Members should remember that this is the Australian sub forum of a website hosted in the USA And is one of the biggest resources of Tesla information on the internet. So it’s not surprising that occasionally a USA based member will ask a question here. No one is required to answer these questions so if an overseas based member asks a question you are free not to answer it. However, please do not berate any member for asking a question on the Australian forum. This is both rude and contrary to the aims of this website and I am starting to see a pattern appearing and not just from @Loxmyf.
I apologise to @Jdizzl11 on behalf of the Australian sub forum and hope my answer above goes some way to answering her question.
I will be acting against the above behaviour, when I see it going forward with temporary bans. You have been warned.

I dream of 30 days
my car was in accident when it was 2½ weeks old, early April - parts might be arriving sometime in June
and that was a minor accident

Our Model X's 12-volt battery died today...zero warning and now bricked...Tesla are saying a minimum of 4 weeks for a new 12-volt battery!! They are indicating it could be 2+ months.

A quick search finds alternative brands, that are actually better than Tesla's 12-volt batteries, that can be order and delivered in 7 days (from the USA to Australia).

12V Lithium Battery for TESLA Model X

A $200k car being bricked for 1+ months for a simple 12-volt battery is darn unacceptable....when one can order in a battery independently of Tesla in less than a week it becomes criminal that Tesla is going to make me wait 1-2 months.

Does any one here have experience of what to do in a situation like this?
