I mean, they "demoed" autonomous driving in the back in black video in 2016.

It turned out to be mostly gimmicked/gamed, but it sure was a demo!

May shed a clue what went on today in SPX/SPY:

Yes, it was clear the renewed concern about inflation from the PMI that came out is/was an issue, but it still doesn’t explain when the options market was already pretty much fully pricing that in IN ADVANCE.. We know there are SOME ppl who do get releases early, as flawed as that is, but still for it to move SPY derivatives is still just surprising..

Low volume days/weeks like these are ripe for quick corrective movements and actions, even if short lived. There’s money to be made for sure.

I think it's pretty clear what's going on.

They're going for the low hanging fruit, trying to get the old prop. re-affirmed as that's the route that involves the least amount of paperwork and accounting, even though they feel like there could be some resistance.

If it doesn't pass, they'll just make a new one, including maybe 50-75% of the old one, plus some new tranches that require the next level of EPS and GM and stuff. Anyone that's not too entrenched in the echo chamber and has 2 brain cells put together should see this. My friend who is pro TSLA but not a TSLA bull agrees and he's the smartest person I know.

I think this is logical, except they need to get out of Delaware before making a new plan because they don’t want McCormick to be able to shut it down again. The problem is if the comp plan doesn’t pass, I think the Texas move might not, either.

On topic for options, I’m holding -c170 and 172.50 against -p180 for tomorrow.

@Yoona - master of stat, what is the historical % for a green day on a Friday preceding a 3 days weekend?

I'm betting green simply due to how broadly red the Market and MM tendency to yank us around.

@dl003 did call for a spike before a rug pull today. Crazy things was it happen so fast.......SPY and QQQ and many others blew up in PM.....then minutes later at Open Bam......
Pretty sure that caught many people off Guard thinking SPY/QQQ would be in deep green for the day.

Whoever these M&M are we need to report them to the SEC for Market Manipulation ;)

@dl, if I send you a recent photo, can you draw some lines that make me look 10% thinner?

;-)

That’s just my attempt at humor, since I have a feeling that the rug pull is about to happen.
Yes, RUG pull was on my mind too.

It’s pretty hard in the end to target actual fraudulent market manipulation, so we just have to live and play with it.

I'm fairly confident we'll see low 160s. There's a very very very small chance I'll be wrong. We're talking about a super rare wave pattern followed by a super (too) deep retracement that ends up resulting in price rocketing next week. I can only say this: if I'm wrong and we see 188 first as price rockets up from here, get out of all bearish bets. I don't think I'm going to be wrong but just in case I get run over by a bus tomorrow.

If we trade lower than 171.44 first, 0% chance I'm wrong.

Yeah... never liked roulette! Definitely need a careful strategy to play it.

All those giant casinos are built from the $ taken from folks who thought they had a "careful strategy" for gambling.

Roulette (barring folks wanting to run a team with computers and lasers and risk felony charges in many though not all jurisdictions) is the dumbest game in the casino.

They literally write out on the table the actual numbers showing you it's a losing bet every single time.

Any single number pays 35:1... but there's 38 single numbers (37 overseas)
Any Column pays 2:1.... but there's 3 colums.
Any 12-number-group pays 2:1... but there's 3 groups.
Red/Black pay even money. But there's two numbers that aren't red OR black (one that isn't overseas)

If you wanna lose money slowest at a casino table game and can count cards ok (or maybe even win a bit if you're very good at it) you play blackjack.
(or if you can still find a full pay video poker machine, do that and just play correct strategy)

If you wanna lose money slowest at a casino table game without doing any work (but be a little unpopular) bet the don't pass line at craps.

Both of those can be profitable if you do it at a casino with high-end enough free liquor :)

Personally I stick to poker, the only place you don't have to worry about a built-in house edge and just have to beat the other players... since unlike this thread casinos don't offer you the chance to BE the house.

If you stay home tomorrow you won’t get hit by a bus, unless they drive through your living room in your neighborhood 😆
