Snagged a P90D Inventory car for $700/mnth on the new 24 month lease

Given that I put my deposit down on 8/24 for a 24 month lease, I hope they honor mine when they fail to deliver by Friday. They claim it will be here by 9/30, but I really doubt it.

I hope so too for your case.

So just spoke with my OA and got some clarification. They can only sell cars within the region you live in so they can guarantee delivery by 9/30.

If you order a car from another region, it's up to you to fly to that region and sign and take delivery there. They can then transport it after 10/1 to your SC.

So yes a few more deals are possible as long as you can find a local car.

24 month program does go away on 10/1. If you don't take delivery by 9/30, your lease agreement is no longer valid and they calculate a new one based on October numbers.

Right, but it's not like I made the deal recently. I mean 8/24? Come on Tesla get it together. If I had known their logistics were so inept, I could have gone out myself. But with no notice, forget it.

I just posted this in the other thread, but if they fail to deliver, change the terms on me, and then keep my deposit? I'll be done with Tesla. No way I'd be able to forgive that kind of treatment. To be clear, this is not what they are telling me. They're telling me it will be here and the deal will go through. I just have a hard time believing it.

Is this as of today or very recently? My OA had no issues selling me a car thousands of miles away. No mention of taking delivery elsewhere or having to take delivery by 9/30. They were quite clear when I signed and placed the deposit that my car wouldn't be here by EOQ.

Are you leasing it under the 24 month program? That's the only thing that expires at the end of the month.

36 month terms and purchases won't change. And your selling price is locked in no matter what.

Yes, I'm doing 24 months. Not a peep from my OA at the time of sale/deposit about it ending on 9/30... but I dunno :(

If they screw me on this, they can take their model S and also my model 3 order and...

Thanks to this awesome thread, I picked up my new (to me) P90d with Ludicrous and every option except rear facing seats for less than $500/mo. Thanks again! Now time to sell my 2013 Model S 60.

Whoa! Can you please walk your fellow Californians through the math on this? There has to be a big component missing like: even larger upfront payment, traded in something offsetting the car, no taxes in your number etc. since everyone throws around numbers, it'd be great to know what the actual cost of ownership is per month excluding insurance. I think I've seen most people say it's around $1000/month for these P90 deals. This reminds me of when my 15vyear old son offered to pay for his own iPhone since it was only $99 and all we needed to do was switch carriers....two lessons that day: "read the small print" and "it it seems too good to be true". So, please share the small print. Green with envy!

Well this car had a lot of miles (22,000) and was a 2015. I think those were the 2 largest contributors. Standard down as has been shared on thread ($6,000 cap cost reduction) plus other fees due at signing (first month, taxes on down, license fees, acquisition etc). 10,000 miles a year at 24 mos. Lease payment is $456.84 plus tax totals to $497.96/mo.
Two responses! Wow! And U Da' Man!
Even more green with envy. Driving one of the quickest cars ever built for VW Jetta "sign and drive" money. Again, congrats!

I assume you were also one of the first? Great deal!

Since it's now towards the end of the month, I can say that I'm not surprised at the >$500 a
month deals. There's one TMC member that snagged one (whom shall remain unnamed) and my friend got the other (it was a local car to him in Seattle) and was comparable, 2015 with 10k miles, no ludicrous and he's at $443 plus tax.
They're early '15 builds which means they have the A pack on them as well. The later '15 and '16 will have the other battery pack which makes it slightly faster and supercharging it quicker as well.

Nonetheless, Congrats on those 3 smoking deals!!

So they are still doing it?

Somewhat off topic but since we have a knowledgeable crowd here and people still looking for cars:

If you do a view source one a listing page for an inventory car on the tesla site, you'll see that they have "includes referral discount" in the page source but that this line of text is currently set to "hidden".

<p class="small-text referral-blurb hidden">Includes referral credit</p>

Maybe they just want people to assume that it's not included by not explicitly stating that it is. Worth checking when getting quotes though.

That blurb and the lease numbers change if you have previously clicked on anyone's referral link. Once you do that, it's saved as a cookie, so the price of the car is reduced by $1000 and the least payment is a little less. If you delete the cookie, the price and payment goes up.

Despite my less than stellar experience, I never got the impression that they weren't going to make good on anything. It's just a matter of keeping up on them. I honestly wouldn't be concerned if you made a deposit in August contingent on certain deal. They're not going to not sell you that car at that deal and if for some reason I'm wrong, they're not going to to that and keep your deposit.

My impression with the way things are run isn't that anyone is dishonest; it's that they're not well trained or perhaps managed. There is a serious lack of follow through. The process is broken. The good news is the process can be broken but the people behind it still honest. So while the road might be bumpy, I have faith they'll take care of you. My delivery specialist ate a bunch of humble pie when I called her on my problems. She didn't have any excuses and they pulled everything together that day. It wasn't fun and I hate feeling like I'm a pain in anyone's ass, especially when I'm spending that much money, but it got done.

I really hope that you're right. There've got to be more than a few of us who won't get our cars by 9/30.

My OA, who has been great, confirmed that the 24m lease and discounts will be available to me whenever my car is actually delivered. I trust him, but that doesn't make me much less paranoid since there are so many people saying otherwise. If I can't trust someone who directly represents Tesla, who can I trust?
