So I just got back from about a 100 mile round trip with some buddies after installing the update. Nothing new, definitely a bug fix release. Just wonder what bugs...

Side note: I really love sending directions to the car via my smartphone. Major time saver!

What app are you using to send directions from? I cannot see how to do this from within Waze. Also, I'm not quite understanding the utility of doing this. Do you do this because the route determined by the third-party app is better than the route Tesla would determine?

You don't send directions, you send a destination. Therefore apps like Google Maps and Apple Maps can be used to find a destination and then send it to the car. The car will still plan the route as per normal.

Since updating to V9 I've noticed that streaming Radio doesn't buffer the song anymore. I didn't notice music stutter before V9 and don't want to blame it on V9 but I can't currently can't listen through a whole song before it pauses while it buffers.

I am SO glad you said this. I was considering posting about this to see if there was anyone else.
I’ve tried all I can think of to make this quit. It’s driving me crazy!
It’s “skips” or “stutters” like you said randomly throughout songs.
I hope that’s something that’s corrected in the bug fix. 39.7

Here was my scenario last night:

Went to a haunted house with friends, didn’t know where it was, so I looked up the place online. Opened the link to their haunted house on my phone and pulled up the directions within Google Maps and then sent it to my car while still at home inside. Then, we went to Chick-fil-A for dinner and while inside, I pulled up directions to get home and sent it to the car. Just a time saver really. Instead of doing it in the car when you get there, it’s already waiting.

In Android, you just click on Share and then choose the Tesla app.

I agree. I used the app to update to 39.7 yesterday, then had to go out to the car to see if there was anything new. release notes in the app would be awesome!
Who would have thought I would ever get so excited to see these four words pop up on my phone: "Software update is available"

I use USB music and just did 39.7 last night as well, but my music is just fine. (model 3 though)

How do you do it from your Tesla App?

If your car has at least firmware version 2018.39 and your phone has at least Tesla app version 3.6.0 the app will notify you whenever newer firmware versions are available for your car and allows you to initiate the update from within the app.

I see a Version: 2018.32.4 040c866 at the bottom the home page of my Tesla App. No way to initiate an upgrade.

I’ve gone from 2018.39.5 > 2018.39.6 > 2018.39.7

OH NO, you got the dreaded "NWF" (Nothing works firmware). Tesla can't find a version that will allow your car to work properly, so keeps updating. QUICK, sell your car before 2018.39.8 downloads and breaks everything to make your car not usable !!!

v9 2018.39.7 seems to be only going to HW2.5. Rolling out decently fast (now on TeslaFi).

Yup, and 2.5 cars are the only ones with TeslaCam

just got 39.7. Looks the same to me. Still no Spotify or Waze apps. Worthless.

Got the new update to version 9 last night, this morning when i got into the car the dashcam stopped working. Checked the usb drive, only the last 2 minutes of yesterdays drive was on it. I wiped the drive and reinserted it and still no luck. looks like tesla disabled the dashcam.
