Wahoo ... 2017 Model S 100D, AP2 ... Just got 2018.39.6

I saw one 2018.39.6.1 on Teslafi and have no idea what that's about. Anyone have any ideas??

But I'm off to get my new key fobs (256-bit AES encryption) so its time to test V9.0

Just an FYI: you posted in the Model 3 forum. I know that you stated you are a Model S owner. But some people may be confused by your post, thinking that the Model 3 fobs are now available.

Key fob for the S?

Yes ... My Model S was manufactured in May 2017 before the Model S key fob encryption was upgraded from 40-bit to 256-bit making it way to easy to clone my fob. Pin to Drive helps but is really annoying so I'm getting the updated fobs today and yes, I'm paying $150 a piece.
