Software Update 2018.40.x

I just installed the .40 update and there were no obvious changes. I decided to fool around with Atari games (which I haven't done before because it was too hard to control with the software joystick). I put the game in full screen mode and was able to control with the steering wheel and / or scroll wheels. Much better gaming experience Does anyone know if the steering wheel control was available in 2018.36 which is the version I just upgraded from?

yes, you can put Teslatari full screen and use the steering wheel, but I think you mean 39.6.

Does the music still play automatically from phones with .40? That would be the biggest bug people are complaining about that I can see.

Thanks yes meant 39.6 Also found one of the threads discussing it Atari controls - full screen mode. I play music off of USB so not sure about the phone.

I received 2018.39.7 four days ago, and just now I got a notification for another update. Will it be 2018.40? Must be pretty important fix bug for 39.x, or at least 39.7, that it needs to be rolled out asap?

Well .40 is not rushing out by any means; more are still getting 39.7 currently....

According to TeslaFi data, all the people that get update to 2018.40 are those who got 39.5/39.6/39.7 within the past week.

I got 2018.4 this afternoon also. No obvious changes so far and release notes are the same as 39.7

So, it has not addressed any of the complaints, such as forcing the rear-camera view to bottom of screen, etc. But I'm having a problem with the Homelink no longer working; perhaps it will fix that. Worth a try!

There is no way they are going to "fix" that any time soon, it was a design decision. The amount of people complaining is also tiny in the grand scheme of things. People just dont come on forums to post when they are happy with an update.

Still waiting for my 39.7, this definitely explains the sudden drop in numbers!

Well....not always the case. You will often see a more recent rev show up, yet revisions lower than the most recent one can still be downloaded in large numbers and sometimes even download more than the most recent one.

Just got and installed the 2018.40 update on my car, 2018 75D w EAP. I got v8 two weeks ago.

I’m 99% sure that with 40.x my:
- regen braking is stronger
- autopilot is less smooth
- my AC blows colder
- my sunroof opening got larger
- the heated seats aren’t as hot

My car was in the shop yesterday and when I picked it up there was a software update to install. It was 2018.39.7 (from 39.6). Then just a few minutes ago got another update. I am assuming it is 2018.40 since that is the only thing left.

What version are you upgrading from? I noticed a significant degradation in AutoPilot lane tracking performance in 2018.36 and was hoping that would be resolved or at least improved in 2018.40.

Anyone with any insights into what's going on to cause the performance reduction?

Just installed. Nothing obvious except my dashcam usb became corrupted after updating. I guess I will have to reformat.
