Northern MN is still a little barren for EVs. I'd like to see Ely, Virginia, Hibbing, Grand Rapids, and Walker selected in the near future.

If Duluth wasn't so cumbersome I'd agree, but now I'm probably going to outright avoid the Holiday Inn. Only time I've charged there was when I had my Volt and was visiting with some friends in their Teslas. Veeeery annoying. And that was when the ramp was under construction so the gates were disabled. This SC seems kind of redundant with Hinckley and Duluth. Any thoughts about that? Maybe Duluth is too small and too odd to get to...or you can't drive into the ramp with a canoe on your car?
The more the merrier anyway, thanks Tesla!

I would even be happy with their 72kW 'Urban' chargers. When I'm out in a remote location, having high power 250kW stalls is not nearly as important as just having something to get me on my way quicker than L2 chargers.I agree that small installations in small towns would be great. Ely and Grand Marais in particular. A lot of people are in those areas for BWCA/camping/rustic traveling and the charging situation is complicated on those types of trips. If you could come out of the BWCA and quickly get 100 miles of charge then you'd be fine making it to Carlton or Duluth.
All those large conduit elbows are fairly consistent with SuC installations.
I’ll check on this site Wednesday Evening and get detailed photos. Here is a better image of the location and where the pavement has been cut and removed between the light poles. View attachment 678696
sorry, but there is no way it'll be powered up in 22 days.I have exactly 22 days before I need this the SC to be finished, and then 29 days until I'll need it again. Keeping a close eye on the progress...especially for the latter need as I'll be coming back down through Duluth during All Pints North...and was rather concerned about competing for 4 charging stalls.
Seems like they're moving at a good clip.

Well, I take that back. There is a remote chance it'll be available in 22 days. MN construction has proceeded quite quickly historically. Four locations have completed in under 30 days (at least as observed from crowd-sourcing).sorry, but there is no way it'll be powered up in 22 days.

Construction day 14 update. The Transformer pad is done. Several more conduits have been buried between the supercharger spots and switchgear. The conduit runs for the pedestals have not been dug yet. Yesterday it rained and Monday may have been the observed holiday off. There are 2 black base plates appear to be for the 2 supercharger cabinets.I knew it would be close!
And technically the site has been under construction for ~8 days now, so we're a bit further along than represented in that graph.
Welcome to the board!I'm just about to Black Bear now, I'll post some updated images if there's progress above and beyond what's already been posted last week.
Hoping to see this completed soon as the DT Duluth charger is kinda of inconvenient being in a hotel parking ramp that requires you to go into the lobby to get a voucher to get out of the ramp without paying.
So far as I can tell, the WI digging hotline system only allows searching by ticket number not by any of the other information in the record. So, I can't do anything with that system. And none of the relevant building departments seem to have online searchable systems or reports showing permits issued or applications, etc. Best bet is to directly contact the building and planning depts in Menomonie/Dunn County and Tomah/Monroe County. Is there any chance you @mociaf could do your sleuthing magic? WI has diggers hotline.
