SuperCharger - Denton, Tx

It's 413 miles from 755 W Diamond Dr, Salina, KS 67401 to 2710 W University Dr, Denton, TX 76207 - Google Maps, Denton to Salina Superchargers. That means at least 2 or 3 more Superchargers to bridge that gap to offer reasonable spacing for fast charging, fast highway speed, weather margin, and ability for 60's to use the route.
So, really, that means something like:

- Denton, TX to Pauls Valley, OK (111 miles)
- Pauls Valley, OK to Perry, OK (119 miles)
- Perry, OK to Wichita, KS (102 miles)
- Wichita, KS to Salina, KS Supercharger (93 miles)

The two supercharger route would be:

- Denton, TX to Oklahoma City, OK (167 miles)
- Oklahoma City, OK to Wichita, KS (162 miles)
- Wichita, KS to Salina, KS Supercharger (93 miles)

Those distances seem long given other Supercharger routes.

I think Wichita is firm, since it's on the official map and is where I35 and I135 meet.

Given Oklahoma City is a crossroads on the Supercharger routes, I still think we'll see one there. If so, then perhaps four superchargers, not three.

Even being someone that lives in (well just NE of) Wichita, I'd prefer that this isn't right in Wichita to help avoid the temptation of locals recharging. The Belle Plain Service Center is at mile marker 26 on I-35 (the Kansas Turnpike - about 15 miles South of Wichita). Being located on the Turnpike (toll road), there would be little temptation for locals to use it. The Service Centers on the KS Turnpike are equipped with a gas station and food (usually a McDonald's), maybe a dog park and a playground for the kids. That makes sense and would help. That still leaves a long 160 mile haul to the Topeka, SC, though.

I've been to those Kansas stops and there's no edible food, so you'll need to bring a picnic lunch.

Kansas isn't California, Oregon, or BC so there are no mountain passes to overcome.

Does anyone have a good idea of when this might open? Like, what's the average permit-to-ribbon-cutting time these days?

Put another way, what time period would not surprise you ? Two months? Three months?

Tell me again, what is the EPA rated range on your Tesla ?
It's not relevant. All existing Superchargers have been placed less than 130 miles from the next on the route.

But, to answer your question, an S60 doing 70 mph in cold weather has a range of 144 miles, according to Tesla. Rain & wind could have an impact further reducing range.

(Edit: Didn't realize the original figure included NO cabin heat)

Perry, OK has been confirmed. I'm feeling good about that prediction!

Is Pauls Valley speculation, reliable info, or something in between?

Wichita, Perry, Pauls Valley, and Denton certainly make a nicely spaced set of Supercharger Sites on I-35!

Wichita, KS to Denton, TX - Google Maps

Ardmore has already been confirmed, so Pauls Valley doesn't make sense-- it's only 45 miles away. Between Ardmore and Perry there will have to be something in the Oklahoma City area near the crossroads of two of the busiest north-south and east-west routes in the country, whether on I-40 or I-35.
