KeithM - Excellent news! That means we are really close. Thanks for the update.
Sounds like all that they need are final inspections approved and a Quality Control check from the Tesla team charging a Model S at each stall.
NICE. I knew they would get it going before my trip. Although I shouldn't count my chickens before they hatch...
I'm in the same boat as you SeminoleFSU. I'd love to have this up and running by this Sunday. Of course I have a backup plan in place but here's to wishing.
Me too! Me too! Since I'm planning a road trip to Lake Wylie, SC. I might leave Sunday, too. I can go through Port Orange, but I'd rather avoid having to go through Orlando if I can. Come on, Ocala.
Darren & l8e - you're welcome to stop by our house and top up on the way if Ocala isn't done. It's 156 miles from there to the Lake City supercharger.
Stopped by the site this afternoon. The cabinets were open and the crew was working. Parking signs have been installed, pedestals labeled and a test car was charging. The crew said they expected the site to be officially opened by the end of the week. They were unsure if they would be able to leave the equipment powered after they left, but would try. A check at the end of the day indicated power was off.
The site appears complete and only needs the switch thrown to be operational.
Great to see! Looks like it will be open within days.
Thanks! Why didn't I think of that? But... You'd be stuck with me a while. I only have a single charger. Wah, wah
This morning the Tampa Service Center told me the "supercharger guy" had come by to borrow one of their loaners to use for testing the Ocala Supercharger. That's a good sign!
Yes, he told me that he hoped to have it tested yesterday. Keith had offered to use his car to assist in testing, and I passed his offer along. I was told that the Tampa folks had him covered.
It's possible that the Supercharger Station could be operational today.
Any word on this? I'll be heading by tonight and I want to know if it works.
I'm on my way to check it out now.
Awesome, you are the best! <3
Nope. Not powered. I'll try and check tomorrow.
If it's around meal time when I run into Supercharger Guy at the Ft Myers Supercharger I buy him a meal.
Maybe he's just waiting for one of you to feed him before he turns it on?
Just trying to help.
Thanks for checking for us FL folks!
Checked this afternoon. Still no power. Doubt anyone will come out to flip the switch over the weekend.
well that stinks. i was hoping i could use it tomorrow.:crying:
No power as of early this morning. I stopped by on my way to Lake City. Hopefully it'll be live in 2 weeks when I swing back through.
