Can't wait for this to be up!!! Super close to work and no parking fee. Hopefully v3 chargers too. Going up to top floor and parking fee from paseo gets old
Well, I saw it with my own two eyes. Construction has started. I don't know who the Moderator is, but could someone alert them to change the thread title?
Just in time too as a local gas station just put up the dreaded number 5...

Indeed you did @Tesluu ! A nice large area carved out from the center of the lot. Clearing the brush along Glenarm St. Construction holding area fenced off now. And workers on site getting ready to rumble. I love the smell of Supercharger construction in the morning...
Shouldn't the rendezvous be at a place in the vicinity of the new Superchargers -- as the Yard House was? On the other hand, there wouldn't be many good options near this location. Maybe everybody could mill around the 76 station mini-mart.
Holy Moly Rocky! Well, it looks like the crew has decided to make up for the long nap they took from September until yesterday. They might even make the SCIP required completion date of June 2nd if they work with the Caltech Astrophysics department and can run time backwards for a few weeks.
A large new hole was dug and some equally large pre-cast concrete structures were placed in the hole. If it looks like progress, smells like progress, and tastes like progress, I'm going to have to admit that it could very well be actual progress. I would note that on the Marengo Supercharger build when they put these large electrical vaults in the hole, they monkeyed around for several weeks with the dirt restraint system and tweaking the vault locations and interconnects. So lets all hold off on the Snoopy happy dance for a bit...
Third picture shows that they chewed up the East end of that concrete parking island end to get at the drainage, so that area will get repurposed as part of the new build. The original posts also indicate that upgraded lighting will be installed, so maybe most/all of the prior poles/fixtures will be replaced.
Finally SGV getting more chargers , no more dealing with the idiots at the Downey mall location driving in wrong direction and speeding like it’s a drag strip
Not much new in the electrical vault. But they did clear out the remaining vegetation along the North end of lot where some of the chargers will be going. Also a shot of the construction staging area that is fenced off.
I agree faster progress once they started than I imagined, making up for 7 months of lost time. And yes I think another celebratory drink at Yardhouse is in order. I was in that first group, thanks for the updates @RubberToe
If like me, you find the asphalt demolition phase of large projects to be the most personally emotionally satisfying, then yesterday was your Christmas/Birthday/Halloween/Arbor Day all combined into one...
Decided not to access the site today as there was a guy in a front loader ready to start working, and I didn't want to get told to stay off the site in the future. The pictures do show that most of the asphalt has been removed that was visible yesterday. Nice shot from across Glenarm St.
