Supercharger - Ridgefield, WA (LIVE May 2023, 12 V3 stalls)

About a 5 minute walk south gets you to Tri Mountain Plaza. Great Thai food there (Teriyaki Thai), plus a Subway, a pizza place, and a wine bistro.

Stopped by today. Construction has started. You can see the concrete poured for the pedestals.
@Big Earl @Chuq @corywright

This one can be updated with a construction cone. Those are definitely supercharger pedestals.

Those pedestals are pre-formed units that are "poured" elsewhere into molds and just have to be placed on site.
Most of the dual head ChargePoint chargers around me have been changed out for 60A, non-shared models that do 30A out of both cables.

It’s very frustrating that they’ll run 100+ feet of 60A cable out to the charger, but can’t beef up the charger cords to support 60A to a single car.
How many non-Tesla EVs available in the US can charge at greater than 7kW/32 amps from a level-2 charger? I didn't think there were many outside of niche (high-end and expensive) EVs.

Of the top 10 best selling EVs in the USA last year, all but the Bolt support 48amp/240v max AC charge rate. Tesla is really the odd one out with 64amp being the standard kit in their cars.

3. Mach E - 11kw
5. Bolt - 7.6kw
7. Ioniq 5 - 11kw
8. EV6 - 11kw
9. ID.4 - 11kw
10. Rivian R1T - 11.5kw

So, if we could deliver that shared 60A capacity to one of the two plugs, Teslas would charge twice as fast and non-teslas would still charge 60% faster.

By 64A Tesla you mean old Model S/X with dual chargers. Current Model 3/Y are limited to 48A. 32A for SR cars.

We're getting off topic, but I've definitely L2 charged at 72 amps in my 2016 and 2018 Model Ses. I've gotten more than 50 miles per hour on those high amperage chargers. Not bad if you can plan a long meal stop.

Whoops, my bad! Didn't realize it had gotten that low. Just got a Y a few weeks ago and forgot 60A circuit doesn't equal 60A charging.
Our other car is an S with dual chargers and we get a screamin' 80 amps of blue blooded 240v juice! You need a 100 amp circuit to make it work 🥵

The fastest I've personally seen was 72A up at Snoqualmie pass.

Us charging faster doesn’t necessarily mean it’s cost effective for building the station. L2 charging is usually dictated by the site host. Target has a relationship with Chargepoint so they go in at Target hosted sites. Chargepoint doesn’t offer a dual headed unit above 60A total output. Other sites don’t care what bramd but want non Tesla compatibility so you get J1772 HPWCs at 48A.

Bolt is 11.5kW/48A as well. They upgraded the onboard charger with the 2022 refresh.
