Superchargers in Northern California (location speculation)

I am curious to find out where Pinole location is going to be. There is a Target in Pinole with a huge parking lot, Another one is next to it where Mountain Mike Pizza is, and the third possible location would be Five Guys Parking Lot... No construction and no plan published yet. Also plenty of space close to Hilltop Mall. With development in that area, 99 Ranch Market will come to that area. That giant Parking Lot is another possible location.

Here are some possible Supercharger locations that I’ve found recently, all in California. These are situations in which council or Tesla has asked for Supercharging stations, and either no agreement was reached, or that I have no idea what they’re talking about. Maybe some of these could spark up a discussion to find the actual Supercharger location. @mociaf9 @emupilot

Lee Vining, CA (Middle p.2, unclear context)

Cambria, CA (Item 7: Supposed to be at the “Pocket Park?” if anyone knows where that is)

Palm Springs, CA (Possibly a second one, but the link craps out so no way of knowing)

El Cajon, CA (Begins at p.80, very solid info but the permit apparently expired :( )

Half Moon Bay, CA (Towards bottom of article, town wanted for Tesla to install an SC on Main St)

  • Palm Springs is for the existing supercharger there that opened last summer in the Museum garage.
  • The El Cajon one didn't pan out because the City Council voted against the proposed agreement to host it on a city lot and Tesla dropped it afterward.
  • The comments for Half Moon Bay sound more like aspirational/hopeful commentary to me than anything concrete. There are/were lots of people/towns that have tried to petition Tesla for superchargers to be put in and this is what it sounds like to me. But Tesla does have a "Coming Soon" pin there, so maybe something came of it.
  • Burlingame and Cambria are sort of interesting, but IMO pretty suspect given how long ago they were discussed without yet turning into action. My guess is that those likely didn't pan out either for whatever reason. But, again, Tesla has a grey pin in Cambria and others bracketing Burlingame. So, still possible that they are working towards them either at the mentioned locations or on other properties.
  • Lee Vining, I've no idea. Sounds like a passing mention that Tesla had been interested/investigating possible locations there. But, to me, it's not enough to get anything out of. To learn more on this one, I'd recommend calling them to see if anything came of it.
(also, half of these don't qualify as "Northern California" ;) )

I stayed a night in Cambria about a month ago, strolled through the town during daylight, didn't see any obvious signs of supercharger construction, and I'd like to think I have a pretty good eye for that with all the time I spend on this forum :D

There was some discussion of Lee Vining recently, but I'm not sure which thread it was in. Possibly it was in the thread for Lone Pine or maybe Bishop or something. We didn't come up with anything concrete there.

Hi Guys,

Re: Tesla Supercharger at 2675 Geary Blvd
@MontrealTesla posted the permit up on TMC back on May 29, 2020

I drove over to Geary & Masonic in the City (San Francisco) yesterday 9/8/20. I wanted to see if there was any work yet and where the sc would likely be placed. There's nothing here yet. There's a few parking structures here. It's sort of a ghost town and the area besides the Trader Joe's across on the other side of Geary Blvd is a dead zone. Decades ago this place here used to be a Sear store and it was thriving..until it didn't. Now it's got a Target store that's their main anchor. I drove up a few ramps and didn't see anything, however I did see potential areas within the parking structure that would make sense.

I think on Level F where the Chipotle is would be ideal since there's also a Subway next to that.
The other area maybe would be on the level that Target is on which is towards the western end of the structure.

Rich
