More Info: Supercharging.Life database

This is a friendly contest for Tesla owners to track the number of unique public Superchargers where they have charged

- "Supercharger count" is the number of unique public Superchargers where you have charged (just being there does not count), whether or not you were the person plugging in the vehicle (such as a Valet Parking garage or a Passenger) and whether or not it was your own personal vehicle (such as a rental, a loaner, or a friend's Tesla) as long as you were the one who drove >50% of the distance to reach the charger(s).
- The list of chargers in the supercharging.life database are the ones included in the game. If you think one should be added or removed from the list, let us know.
- Only chargers available to the public without special permission are included in the game.
- Chargers not connected to the grid are not counted.
- Doublet locations like the North/South Supercharger 'pairs' in CT, ME, NH, etc. count as individual locations.
- More than 1 charger at the same address, such as Lenox Square Mall (Atlanta, GA) or Montgomery Mall (Bethesda, MD) count as individual locations when they appear as a separate location on the Tesla Nav screen.
- Inactive competitors will be archived and removed from the leaderboard. Just post an update to be reactivated.

See Supercharging.Life database for info on how to post your own visits to the database (preferred), or post your locations with date visited to this thread and one of the admins will update your list for you. All visits must be posted to this thread - not just entered in supercharging.life. If you are the first in the game to visit a supercharger location, please post to the thread as soon as you can so others know it has been visited.

We had some strange things happen today, which I'll relate, in case anyone has had a similar experience.

Last night I charged to 90% at the Bozeman SpC, for a rated range of 251 miles. We are staying at a hotel a few hundred yards away, so I moved the car into the hotel parking lot when charging was complete. In the morning I like to check the range with the iPhone app to see how much I've lost overnight. When I checked this morning, the range showed 262! Then we we got in the car to leave, it was showing 264. It even showed the indicator that regen was partially disabled! Once we got on the road I think at some point the available range returned to normal, but I missed when that happened.

You just happened to have two completely opposite legs and the car was only able to estimate the previous 30 miles from what you just drove. In unfamiliar areas or when I need to be mindful of the range then I'll have the Energy Graph displayed for the Trip (to see into the future) and either Nav or Waze on the other half of the screen. That way I can change my driving 200+ miles before realizing I've been driving too fast for the past 100 miles or that I need to stop somewhere to a charge.

I really wish the Trip graph would let us zoom in more because a 200-mile trip doesn't show large uphills or downhills very well but if you make the trip 50 miles along the same route then the peaks and valleys are huge and give a better indication of elevation changes.

Here was the approach to Bozeman and tells you why the car probably thought 90% range was 251 at night but 262 in the morning. From the looks of it, the last 30 miles to Bozeman is as much uphill as it is downhill so it should have been your normal 90% range indicated but who knows how they calculate it sometimes.

When we got to Butte, I started charging at Bay 1A, which charged fine for about 10 or 15 minutes and then charging suddenly stopped. I tried unplugging and replugging several times, but each time it would start charging for a minute or so and then stop. So I moved to bay 1B, where charging resumed normally and went to 90%. I called Tesla to report the problem with 1A. [In the meantime, there was already another Tesla charging in bay 2A, and while I was charging in 1B, a third Tesla showed up. He pulled in to 1A, so I told him what I had experienced, so he decided to move to 2B]

We set off from Butte on I-90 doing 75 - 80 mph. At some point I glanced down at the Wh/mile [I have it displaying the average for the last 30 miles] and it was showing about 212 Wh/mile and that was dropping quite rapidly even though I was doing 75 - 80, and the remaining range was rising. That didn't seem possible, so I decided to call Tesla roadside support to see if they could look at the vehicle diagnostics while I was driving. When they looked at them they said everything looked fine, but suggested I take the car in to a service center for them to have a look at it. They were going to forward the info to Vancouver service center, since I'll be there for several day at the beginning of next week.

Having thought about this some more, I suppose it is just possible that was I was seeing could be explained if during the last 30 miles I had a lot up uphill followed by a long downhill, then when I was driving 75-80 on the level, very high Wh/mile from the uphill was being replaced by moderately high Wh/mile from the level driving, while the 30 mile average was weighted heavily by the low Wh/mile from the long downhill.

What do people think?

As others suggested, @JSergeant, this looks to be perfectly normal for this stretch of road. Thanks for the route info and details as these are a tremendous help to me. Since I am driving this exact route next week (Butte -> Helena -> Great Falls -> Lethbridge -> Fort MacLeod) then I'd already looked at the Wh/mi estimates, elevation, range needed, etc. Here is the elevation from Butte to Helena. After that initial climb in the first 5 miles it is downhill from mile 5 to 18 and then a big downhill from mile 18 to 20 and then a decent downhill from mile 20 to 35. An uphill is in the middle but then more big downhill from mile 46 to 58.

This shows up in your Teslafi stats as -1,550 ft elevation for the 70 miles driven and >100% efficiency. I don't think anything is wrong with your car at all.I just hope to see similar numbers in my pre-refresh car as I am not planning an overnight at Great Falls so I'll nee all the help I can get for <6 hr charging time at Great Falls. I'll be stopping for food and some charge at Suds Chicken and Casino in Helena so that will help but it will still be a good test especially since Great Falls to Fort MacLeod is 215 miles and my 90D max is 260 miles.

@JSergeant
Big fire at Glacier NP may also affect you depending on prevailing winds.

Isn't it interesting how a fire in a glacier park halfway across the country is affecting the routes we are taking. I had planned an alternate route through Kalispell up to Fort MacLeod but that is not an option now thanks to the fire and road closures near Lake McDonald so I'll be taking the Butte -> Helena -> Great Falls -> Fort MacLeod route now. Fires over in northern Cali and possibly Yosemite are causing some reroutes and detours to my plan as well.

Darren had asked me to let him know how the trip from Butte to Fort McLeod went. I thought I'd post the info here for anyone else planning this trip. <snip>

Day 7: We drove from Great Falls, MT to Red Deer, AB and added two new Superchargers - Fort MacLeod, AB; Calgary/Rocky View, AB - bringing my total to 495. <snip> We left Great Falls with a full charge, showing 277 rated miles. We arrived at the Fort MacLeod SpC with 34 miles of range left.

Thanks again for the Teslafi stats, @JSergeant, as I use the same app and am traveling the same route. The catch is, my 90D max range is only 260 miles and even if I leave Great Falls at 100% and have the same drive that you did I would arrive in Fort MacLeod with just 17 miles or 6% remaining (but could very well end up at -5% remaining). Yeow. That's a bit closer than I'd like it to be when crossing unfamiliar and foreign areas and naturally it shouldn't be <0%. I have a spot or two in Lethbridge, AB picked out in case I need some safety charge for the last 30 miles but we'll see how that goes.

Since I'm not planning to stay the night at Great Falls then it's unlikely I'll wait around for a 100% charge. I'll grab one in Butte and then top up as much as possible in Helena and top up as much as possible in Great Falls but I don't know what time I'll be arriving at any of those so I'll keep in mind that the Great Falls HPWC could very well be ICE'd and getting there in the afternoon is better than 2 am. Then again, if it IS a 2 am arrival and all the spots are ICE'd then I'd just park in front of a car blocking the charger and sit in the car as it charged or leave my number on the car and sit in the lobby and the driver of the car I'm blocking could let me know if they need to leave.

Too bad the spots don't have signs on them and that people somehow have to park in THE closest spots to the entrance rather than 25 ft away in a normal spot. The irony is, some of those folks then go and use the treadmill and walk or run 5 miles when they didn't want to park 25 ft farther away from the entrance. That makes no sense to me.

I too was stymied by Glacier, but not over fire, but ice! I was coming from Ft MacCleod and spend 4 hours at the Super 8 in Conrad and then dinner at the Suds Hut in Helena. Super 8 was very accommodating—they let Macy and met set up in their breakfast area and provided the TV clicker. WiFi too as I recall.

I added a couple on my way to my daughter’s but family events have precluded any roaming while in SoCal. Given the flurry of activity, I updated my list to include Henderson, San Bernardino and Thousand Oaks—Hillcrest Dr. Headed home today—we’ll see if the family humors me with any detours:)

Looking at the map, I never went through Great Falls because I remember going through Choteau because that’s where Dave Letterman lives, so I took back roads and took it easy. Nice sentence:)
I cleaned it up for you. Either:

One other note from my Chicago trip. I hit the Chicago chargers at 5am which was very nice. One was hard to find, and it was nice to be able to drive through the streets with no traffic. I've never been to a city with more complicated streets than Chicago - maybe it just takes some getting used to.

Tell me about it. I just went through there yesterday. I didn't go through at 5AM though...so I had to deal with a bit of traffic, but honestly not too terrible. The one I had the absolute most difficulty finding was the Lakeshore East one. I drove around the block probably three times. Finally another car was going into the garage when I pulled down the side alley (for the second time) or I'm not sure I would have ever found it (without asking). Then when I left that place I actually exited on the lower level...which was a mistake...as then my Nav presumed I was at street level and was trying to direct me that way even though the real roads were above me. Apparently the car does not know about Z height (the same is true in parking structures where you're on the 7th floor and the car already presumes you're at street level).

Extended my trip up to Traverse City a bit by going over to Gaylord to grab the SC there that I was missing in Michigan, so now that one is off my list...and I have them all in my home state once again. But then I also went over the top from Mackinac City all the way over to Howard, WI. There's a parking lot right by the marina in Mackinac that has a few Tesla Destination Chargers...but they're on the slow side. Was only getting 20 miles of range out of them per hour. But I charged to 262 (rated) as I couldn't stand to wait any longer (and was running out of daylight) for a 255 mile leg. I felt rather confident that I could make it if I stayed at 55 across the UP. But then mother nature decided to throw some rain at me...but I still made it all on one charge. I did have backup plans to stop in Escanaba if needed...but again that was just a Destination Charger. The math was looking good though even with the rain and I coasted in to Green Bay with 14 miles left.

The rest of the trip was easy from then as far as range goes. Only had difficulty finding one of the downtown SC's in the parking garages (Lakeshore East). I didn't realize it was on the side road, and then on the side of the side road, and then on the lower floor. Definitely spent more time finding that charger than actually using it. There are red signs inside the place, once you get in, guiding you to the chargers...but I missed them initially. My advice is to make sure you exit by going back up. I went lower and that made for some interesting issues with the Navigation as it did not know I was BELOW the street level.

I even got the SC at the Tesla store that they don't want you to use...but the store is closed at 8PM on Saturday, so they were wide open. This is actually where I picked up my car, so it was neat bit of a homecoming.

I'm still a bit tired as I didn't sleep much in the last 24 hours, but my map is looking much better with all those Chicago ones crossed off and I'm happy I got some of the other outliers that were bugging me too (like the new one in Madison). Anyway, here's the list. 20 new ones...

These have been updated. You moved up 3 spots to #15. Nice job tackling that 255-mile drive up-and-over with just 262 miles of range!

The rule is if they are asleep, that means they have authorized you to make any detour decision you want. However, when they wake up and find you off-route, simply apologize for getting lost because they may not be sympathetic to the rule. ;)

Rough day for me. -3 superchargers.

I removed 3 duplicates. Darn!

Thanks for catching that and it's what makes the 'game' worthwhile because folks are honest about the locations they visit. No harm done really as you didn't move in the list at all. You'll get 3 more in no time flat.

I updated the count that you had in some of the sections to match what you had listed so it adds up to 257 and also fixed the formatting of the new ones to keep it consistent.

Day 8: We added Edmonton, AB, bringing the total to 496. We're in the heart of the Rockies at Golden, BC. While it was smoky on the drive here, you could at least still see the mountains (although not from Calgary). There's a light drizzle and temperatures are cooler (59 here), so that should help with the firefighting.

2 in Brooklyn, 3 on Long Island, and New Rochelle is an easy 300-mile day trip. I just have to save up for the $22 in tolls and parking fees.

I funded my Chicago trip with $47 obtained at the beginning of the trip dropping off 162lbs of scrap at Rockaway Recycling - Scrap Metal Prices & New Jersey Scrap Yard - they always get a kick out of my dropping of scrap in my Tesla. I go there about once a year.

Wowza!! Did you add all those states, commas, and semicolons??

Looks great. Thank you! I'll try not to mess it up going forward.

@JSergeant would have caught my mistake soon enough.

Well, it's been a joint effort over the last few weeks with @Half Dollar Bill, @JSergeant, and myself to get the locations in a consistent naming convention and "City, State; City, State" or "City; City; City" format per each user's preference or even putting them in alphabetical order if that's how they want their list to be organized. Thanks for noticing and keeping up with the convention. I'd like to see the list a bit more user-friendly but don't know enough about the forums and editing to know what is possible.

It was Step 1 toward making it easier to update the entire list when a location name changed because if there are 20 different ways that "Folsom - Iron Point" was entered then it makes it arduous to update all the entries but if they are all the same then we can do something like "Find - Replace" and update everything quickly and easily. One of us would have found those duplicates at some point but glad you caught that before you reached #1 on the list by 2 only to realize you celebrated too early.

We can thank @Bighorn for giving me the idea of getting the list organized again when he indicated a name change on the Orlando supercharger across from Universal Studios (or another one in FL somewhere) as he was using the vehicle Nav screen for the name instead of PlugShare or Supercharge.info. That made sense as everyone has the Nav screen in their vehicle and should be the master list. I believe Half Dollar Bill has done similar updates in the past but I wasn't involved with them at that time. The list is easily accessible from Supercharge.info but not as easy (for me) from Tesla but I haven't put too much effort into it either.

Good thing you got Syosset years ago as rumor is it won't be open to the Public after Sep 1st, Supercharger - Syosset, NY.
