I don't believe the FSD ordered back in 2018 is the same as FSD currently. Granted, Tesla could say they are because they share the name, but the descriptions are different.

Looks like they realized they made a mistake. Happy they realized it and took steps to fix it. I just purchased the FSD.

Also purchased the FSD. Glad I waited until it was on sale... Saved 4000 CDN. It went from 6600 IIRC to 2600. Killer deal!

I'd love to hear more on your thoughts on this. Looks like they are fixing their mistake as best they can. But yea, no guarantee I can't keep 2k in pocket until next time the price drops or wait for a trial or something.

bizarre that a multi $Bn company hadn't thought to work out the costs of closing sales outlets including property commitments before announcing such a half-ar$ed strategy.

I recall Elon saying that the product should never be discounted.
That's all very well if the pricing is consistent not all over the place.

There's winners in this, but a lot of losers who are going to be sore.

It was a sale.

For cars that were purchased when EAP was an option, the pricing will be as before for EAP + FSD.
For purchases March 1st or later, the pricing will be as announced for AP + FSD.

This isn't difficult. They went back to AP because SR moves the Model 3 downmarket and potential buyers are not only much less likely to want to shell out $5k for EAP, they're also more likely to opt for a different vehicle because of the high cost of the option that gives ACC.

FSD is not and never will be a thing. Sure, maybe you'll be able to stop at stop lights. But you won't ever be making automatic turns or other things critical to a product called full SELF DRIVING. You'll get more gimmicky crap like NoA.

I have yet to figure out what Navigate on Autopilot does for me.

So are the $2K AP and $3K FSD prices for existing owners going up?? It's not clear based on the posts here. I did see that the price for most models except the base 3 are going up by 3% on Monday.
