Hi Houdini - sorry for the confusion - yes - what i ment was that Naomi's comment re pricing from a few weeks ago is correct - you will have that. As Stone Strickland is heading out from CA this week, he will also be on point with owners and reach out to provide a better timeline, i would suggest within the next 5 days or so....

Wow, if "The Wolf" has been called in, things are gonna move fast now.

As a sideline follower and new forum member, can someone explain who all these names are? So someone from Tesla is flying over for a possible time/price announcement?

Stone Strickland helps owners configure their cars as part of the ordering process - he helps kick start a new market. His arrival in Australia would seem to indicate owners there are going to be confirming orders soon.

Stone has updated his linked in profile to show he's working in Sydney now. One concern I have though is that an Asset Lite role (which he holds now and indeed Tesla is advertising for one in Sydney in their job vacancies (Careers | Tesla Motors) is given the task to "pre-heat the market for Tesla's entry and generate sales momentum and local buzz. As a precursor to the establishment of a full store location markets are initially explored by putting a vehicle and a salesperson on location this is known as the “Asset Lite” phase of market development."

So without wanting to appear too negative doesn't this mean that there's lots of pre-heating to be done in addition to the number of deposits and orders that they have before Tesla will commit to establishing stores? I assume that they get a sales bump once stores are set-up and people can actually test drive and touch and feel the cars and also talk to knowledgeable sales staff? Perhaps we don't have enough pre-sold units yet, given there will be some drop off once pricing has been announced.

Mark is spot on...Asset Lites prep markets for Model S introduction. Stone is a great guy - has worked with Tesla for about 2 years now, I have known him since he first started as a product specialist @ Santana Row - he touched down today - expect some movement / activity over the coming week boys and girls ;-)

Quite a nice garage you have shaping up there Jay!

I wish I had more concrete news for you antipodeal types, but the best I can contribute here is that a talk with family in NZ yesterday prompted them to tell me they've begun to hear that Teslas shortly will be available there, too. Combining that with the recent input on this thread, and it certainly sounds as though your long drought may beginning to break. Good luck, all!

Nice work, I'm jealous. Are factory tours available for any Australian reservation holder? I'm probably visiting the bay area in a few months and would love to check it out.

Write your customer advocate, and I'm sure they do what they can to accommodate. I took a tour last summer (as part of the TESLIVE event), and it was well worth the trip.

Has a right hand drive model been built yet?

First delivery in UK is supposedly in April. Signatures May/June. So, I would have thought they must be building them now. I've never seen one.
