Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Didn't we get confirmation from inside sources that there were definitely cars on the Cap? I'm pretty sure I saw that somewhere here, and again on the facebook page.
Its fairly simple, if cars arent being delivered in sydney around the end of this week then they wernt on cap capricorn. To do that invoices would need to be paid by around wednesday, which means monday invoice issue at the latest.

For reference, P-, reservation holder, ordered on the 1st day, vin 4883xx. I’m gently hoping that the vins will be remapped and we see invoices early next week. But in any case I’m trying to not fret too much if it doesn’t get here until mid Sept. Besides, I’m likely to be charging it from a standard 240v 10A GPO for the first month anyway.

I hope the car’s are here, I just don’t know if speculation from ‘inside sources’ if evidence of hundreds of vehicles landing onshore.

I really do recommend reading this thread from about page 120 onwards if you have time (or at least last 50 pages) . We almost need a sticky, as more people come to TMC and ask similar questions about - when is the RoRo coming? where is my car? Why isn’t it here? When is my delivery date? What evidence is xxx true? What is a hidden vin? Does it mean anything? Which car is my ship on? How long from the ship until delivery? Which cars are being delivered first? My Tesla showroom person said x, My Tesla showroom person said opposite of x? I am in state x, when Am I getting it? Etc

We have a lot of answers with multiple verification, some data analysis, some single source, some theories, some opinions.

I have asked the question at Tesla Chadstone and was told the cars are all unloaded in Sydney and road freighted to Melbourne.
Tesla chadstone are sales people. The same sales people that assured me my tesla would look at my diary and be at the front of my house on time as a current feature. Tesla very much only tell those that need to know any information. Anyone that has been around and dealt with tesla long enough I suspect would also identify this trait. Unless you hear it from your delivery specialist, and they are not located at chadstone, or the state manager, its probably not worth believing.

It is interesting for sure.. I am one of the original reservation holders. And also one of the 4,500 that have not, so far, proceeded to order.
My reason is the LR battery, to me, will cost a minimum of $ 23,000 to get a 17.5 kw h bigger battery .. so am hesitating at that price, and the SR+ doesn't suit my needs, not after the performance. ( FWIW i think the price of the SR+ is fine, so is the performance. )
The $23000 difference is not just for the battery
An extra motor - $10,000
Upgraded Audio Components with Spotify, (Netflix and Youtube when parked) - $3,000
That means the Long Range Battery only comes in at around $10,000 extra

I'm starting to think if there were any cars on the Cap Capricorn they are all for Australia.
We in NZ have not been able to confirm any new cars apart from the demo cars.
Maybe the cars for NZ will be on the next ship.
My bet is around 100 sales per month for NZ and around 500 for AU.

I understand the concern. It’s true we don’t have as much insight into NZ as Australia on the delivery side. The fact the preparations have been a week ahead there in all respects should give you hope, website changes, vins, insurance, finance etc. It has only been a few days waiting since ship arrival, and we know Australia is a roughly couple of weeks in logistics. The vin ranges are in the same range as Australia. The press car took a while too. And then there were the sleepers - cars not found for weeks hidden somewhere. The next ship is to Auckland is the Monday 19th - Kota Ekspres

@technerdx6000 was the one who found a good source saying every ship from now on has 500 in total on them. But this is a single source so we can’t really report it.

Your ratio looks right somewhere between a 5-1 to 6-1 ratio. Aus to NZ

There is also no hard fact that any model 3’s are on cap capricorn, so we also have a boatload of wishful thinking....or a boatload of fact. Time will decide which it is. The facts that are known; Tesla build model 3, Cap capricorn is a boat currently berthed in sydney, and its containers will be unloaded, and sydney is a city in australia. The proposition that tesla are sadistic and get a thrill from playing with all of your minds is not a proven fact either.

Are you sure Sydney is a city in Australia? Somebody at tesla told me that, and so now I'm unsure.

I’ve mentioned before that you have to allow couple of weeks for logistics. Take few hundred containers from port to the site, remove cars from containers and unpack them. Upgrade firmwares, check for damages recharge and start notifying Tesla of cars/VINs that are ready to be transported to delivery center. At that point I suspect you will hear from your delivery specialist. They will also organise detailing once car is at the delivery center and tinting/options/rego. I think few token deliveries will be done end of August and they will really ramp up in September.

Another point, there are likely some S/X on the same boat and will be prioritized for delivery. Why do I think so. They are higher value/margin and likely were manufactured start of quarter. My S was built early Jan and don’t think they built any for AU in April due to Raven changes.

When I bought my Model S (which was at the holding yard in country) it still took them 3 weeks before I could pick up.
