We didn't get the adjacent lane speed feature, but we did get the more confident lane changes, and they sure are that!

Tesla Software updates - Australia

Would be good to get a reliable speed sign detection. Until that’s reliable I’m not so sure about trusting stop sign detection.
I’ve just discovered faster updates in my model s.
In the software section, I’ve always had ‘advanced’ activated as that is supposedly faster.
Anyway last few downloads on my car have stalled and required tesla to re-push them.
So I thought I’d check just now if any were sitting there stalled, and to my surprise it said “checking for updates”, and about 1 minute later it started installing a new update.
It seems that simply going to the software screen forces any update through.

I took another long drive yesterday with 40.2 and I have to say the improvements in autopilot confidence (since 32.12) are striking. However, I tend to drive fairly aggressively myself and I can't help but think it is trending more towards my style of driving. Of course I love that but I'm not sure others will agree. I'm really looking forward to them unlocking more features for us in AU. Hopefully eventually it will also be more configurable in driving style to suit everyone's tastes.

LOL ... let's not spread more false rumours similar to the "Tap advanced 5 times" BS ... it doesn't "force" the update, just by opening the software tab it now always just checks to see if there's an update available, obviously, if there's no update available it'll just say after checking "software up-to-date".
On the contrary, it does speed up the update. My other identical model s which is set for ‘advanced’ is still waiting. I can force it sooner by going to the updates page and letting it search.

The settings were turned off for some reason. All good now
Bugfixes? I wonder, does it get rid of the passenger airbag warning that came with 40.2?

Don’t know. All I got for 40.2 was more aggressive lane changes (FSD) and windscreen neural wipers. Slow lane adjustment seems to be linked to Navigate on Autopilot which, of course, we do not have yet, even if you have bought FSD.

It did mention bug fixes in the release notes, but I haven’t noticed anything in that regard.
The automated lane changes are much more confident.
It may be some time before I need the wiper function again so we’ll wait and see there.

My SR+ still does not show 2019.40 as option to download. What I am interested in, is if it has the improved supercharging speed for SR+ included in it. Can someone confirm?
