I got camera-based perpendicular Auto Park in the 2021.44 release notes for 2018 Model X, MCU2/FSD. I never use Auto Park because it’s always felt super unco but I might give this new one a spin and see if it’s actually reliable now.

2021.44.6 now in the car, ostensibly allowing autoparking to recognise spaces not between occupied ones. Watch this space (pun intended....)

On a serious note, over what periods are updates rolled out? My ‘21 M3P is still 2021.36.5.5 with “advanced” toggled.

Welcome to the Tesla update lottery! It's mostly random, sometimes you might be one of the first to get a new update, other times it might take a few days and other times you'll skip an update altogether.

2021.44.6 installed late last night. That was quick move from 2021.44.5…

Just been out to have a try at the new improved autopark.
it’s actually quite good.
It also now recognises spaces on both sides: the old unimproved version never did, or at least I never had it come up with a space to the right.
The only issue I found was that you have to jam the brakes on as soon as the “P” shows up because as it will abandon that one as the next space appears and so on, and in between nothing shows so you can’t use it.
If you catch a space the parking proceeds as in the old version: a bit slow with several little thinks but accurate. Better than my own parking, I’m embarrassed to admit.

I’m afraid thats one of the mysteries of the universe. One day someone will come along with a name that will go down in history (eg einstein) who will solve this eternal question

I picked up my Unicorn last week and haven't had an update yet. I am still on 2021.40.6. Does the car have to be charging and connected to wifi to update? It was charging on Thursday night, thought it may have received the update but nothing yet.

Log a service request via the app. It will ask for a service location but they cancel the appointment when it’s done over the air.
