Got VIN 55XX last week - completed paperwork and payment - expecting delivery next week.

I did a wire transfer on the 16th -- Tesla called tonight - delivery set for the 28th at Cedar Springs. Super excited!

Did you get any indication of when your car started moving from California?

Is anyone here using Tesla's financing option here in Texas? I'm not finding many lending options that aren't super short in timeframe or right around the 2.74% APR anyways. It also seems advantageous to use their in-house financing partner to get things approved fast and get the ball rolling with a Texas delivery.

On @Rockster's recommendation I tried RBFCU. If you apply online you can get 2.3% for 75+ months. I'm probably going with them.

I am still waiting as patiently as I can.

I configured on 1/18, got VIN on 2/14, paid on 2/14 (ACH), and have been waiting for a delivery date since then. I have been talking to my specialist (Andres) every day or two to get status. The update from him today is that my car is scheduled to complete inspection in California by 2/28 then be shipped to Houston for delivery to me on March 7.

That’s about 7 weeks from configuration to delivery, if these dates hold up. Slower than I was expecting... But I waited almost two years, so I will survive.

A snag on my purchase: For some reason, Tesla has processed payment from my credit union as a payment of only $12, not a payment of $56,272.25. As a result, Tesla thinks I still have a payment due of $56,260.25 instead of zero. I've been emailing my delivery person in NV for two days now to see if he can get it resolved, but have received no response.

If they think I haven't paid yet, my Model 3 will not be invited to the party when the truck pulls out.

Sigh.

I was told my car would have been ready for delivery March 6th, but I'll be out of town, so my delivery is now 3/15 at 2:00.

Ordered 1/17
Vin assigned 2/16 (74xx, white, 18" rims)
Paid 2/20
Delivery Scheduled on 2/21 for 3/6
Delivery rescheduled for 3/15 due to my conflict.

I hope the best for both of us then if thats the case!! With so many deliveries confirmed for 2/28 to Dallas that may be a good sign that ours will be on that date as well.

Down payment sent. Crossing fingers the finance check gets out the door this afternoon.

My sales adviser shared a few things:

• "You are in the very first batch of Texas customer deliveries, and we're trying to make sure we get every detail right because its a bit more complicated and we don't want any last minute hang ups"
• "There are _a lot_ of customers in Texas waiting for this car"
• My car is complete, and sitting in the Fremont parking lot. They cannot move it until all money has arrived at Tesla.

Tip for everyone here: If you have placed an order, I'd advise having all of your finance ducks in a row so you can get money out ASAP as soon as you get a VIN. I haven't quite figured out what is different here than an S and X, since I've seen inventory vehicles in Austin and Dallas be sold to Texas Buyers (with them obviously already being in the state before finalizing payment), but there is something with the 3 where Tesla can't get it moving until they receive the money...

Anyone have any insight on the difference?

I speculate that it's just Tesla trying very hard not to run afoul of the BS rules involving sales in Texas so that they're not hit with an injunction or something that would shut down Model 3 deliveries.

I have sent the mvpa I received when I ordered, but seeing as I have no VIN yet, that's all I have. The RBFCU person told me the purchase order they are expecting will have the sales price, plus the taxes and title/licensing fees. Is that right? I don't remember getting anything from Tesla like that when I bought my S.

If that's what they told you guys no big deal. Otherwise I need to get on the phone with someone to have everything sorted out so I can pay the second I get my VIN.

Yes you will get that document once you have a VIN. My credit union required it as well.

Yes. Tesla will send you all the finalized documents with tax, fees, and all those other nickel and dime things they throw in there for your grand total.

I asked for a specific amount but had to adjust when i got the final documents from Tesla and we adjusted accordingly. You will upload those documents on their website there are red Xs and things you need to complete before finalization of the loan and then I called to verify they received them and then they walked me through the process until they completely had everything they needed.

They even called Tesla to confirm address and overnight process for the check to go out.

You will not get all of that until a VIN is created though.
