I've added the new Tesla map markers
which appeared at the end of last week to the
wiki post at the start of this thread. A few observations are below.
Coming very soon?
Two new markers have a target opening date this quarter:
Reading - Service Center (Tesla's spelling! - already known to be on the cards) and
Newport. The Newport marker is at M4 Jct 24 near the Celtic Manor resort and a number of other hotels so looks very plausible and would be an excellent location for supporting travel to/from South Wales.
Service Centres
In addition to Reading,
Glasgow Service Centre now has an official marker and
Northampton is very close to the new Northampton Service Centre.
Shopping Centres / Retail Parks
The following all appear to refer to shopping centres either due to location or name:
Bromley (The Glades)
Carmarthen (St Catherine's Walk)
London - Wimbledon (Centre Court)
Sheffield (Meadowhall)
Merry Hill (marker location, near Dudley town centre, looks notional but Merry Hill retail park is only a few miles away)
Newark (Maltings Retail Park - confirmed to be under construction)
Other markers that appear to indicate specific locations
Coventry - Judds Lane (name and location next to the Coventry Building Society Arena)
Brighton Station (marker location looks notional but name suggests the nearby railway station)
Birch Eastbound and Westbound - Moto services that have had markers in the past which have just been reinstated.
Twins
You need to zoom in on the map to separate these markers:
Reading and
Reading - Service Center - the former is now assumed to refer to the Moto Reading Westbound services: superchargers are shown on a planning application for the site.
Brighton and
Brighton Station - a notional Brighton marker has existed for a long time but the new Brighton Station label is an intriguing addition (see note above).
Birch Eastbound and
Westbound (see above)
Swansea (q122) and
Swansea (q222) - both of these look like notional locations. The Moto Swansea West service area is a candidate; Gridserve have recently installed high power chargers there. Now there appears to be another candidate site in the area.
Although not new
Bournemouth and
Ferndown get a mention because Ferndown has been moved north after previously being in an identical location to Bournemouth. They are both roughly equidistant from the new Tesla service centre so one of these markers may be linked with that but it looks like there are other plans afoot in the area.
The rest
Dorking - planning found for a site at Denbies Wine Estate
Of the newly added markers I think that just leaves
Watford,
Swansea (both) &
Brora which look to be notional locations at this stage (IMO).
