I've never met anyone else who had a Corona! Mine was the sedan, and a '75. Hate how people always try to correct me, saying I had a Corolla. My Corona was silver with a black vinyl roof and black vinyl interior... And AM only radio. The clearest station I could get was a "Funk" station, so I can honestly say I know all the words to Rick James' "Super freak"

We had the sedan as well. Same year - 1976. It was a maroon-purple color. And, yes, people would always ask, "don't you mean a Corolla?" Interestingly, my dad owned the Corona sedan and now has a Corolla. Drives his Tacoma more, but the Corolla gets better mpg obviously.

First post! Wife and I ordered a MS last week. I'm a sports car junkie so this will be quite a shift. Currently drive or race,

Mine is pretty sad until 2011, but not having a car loan payment sure helped in saving up for the Model S:

1988 Honda Civic hatchback (parents' car, learned to drive in this)
1990 Plymouth Voyager (very used, temporary car, owned 6 month)
1998 Dodge neon ::barf:: (very used, parents' car)
2003 Honda CR-V (parents' car)
2003 Mazda Protege (wife's car, shared for 4 years)
2011 Volkswagen Golf TDI 2.0l (my first new car, still own)
2013 Tesla Model S 40

It was all downhill after the first car.

1979 Firebird Formula (bright yellow attracts the police)
1984 Nissan 720 Pickup, 2-door, manual (seriously, it's a motorized garden cart)
1981 Ford Escort 3 door, manual (could go through brick walls)
1984 Mercury Marquis (not the grand, sexy vinyl top, ran forever, ugly as sin)
1986 Ford Thunderbird (paint would fly off at highway speed)
1988 Ford Thunderbird
1994 Ford Escort LX 2 dr (second best car I ever owned)
1998 Ford Windstar LX (liked to start itself on fire)
2001 Dodge Intrepid a.k.a. "sludgemaster"
2001 Honda CRV (Nice, but too small)
2005 Dodge Grand Caravan SE (frumpy, but gets the job done)

Hmm.. Trying to remember the years, could be a bit off.. But a nice thread while waiting, indeed. :)

1984- Volvo 740 (Dad's)
1991 Renault 5 (The first car of my own!)
1993 Renault 19 (the 5 was really a bit too small for comfort)
1996 Renault Megane Coupe 1.6 (the first car I really wanted as soon as I saw a picture of it, ordered one and had to wait for months!)
1999 Ford Puma 1.7 (my only company lease car... Pretty neat car, but HORRIBLE service, and it had a lot of (mostly electrical) problems)
2003 Hyundai Coupe 2.7 V6 (Really liked this one, had it for 8 years as I did not find anything better!)
2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 V6 (Finally found a better car! :))
2014 Tesla Model S 85 (on order, very hard to wait!)

Curiously, all my cars have been new, even my first owned car. I guess I like the new car smell. :)

Looks like I have been reasonably brand loyal as well.

Here's my current Genesis Coupe, the day I drove it home from dealer back in April 2011.

What car did you drive before ordering a Tesla Model S?

Sorry if this post has already been posted somewhere else... Couldn't find it.

I have been a muscle car addict for years... 9 Viper's, 800 hp Ford GT, Mercedes SL63 AMG. I saw a few Tesla Model S's driving around town and decided to go see what they were all about. All it took was a test drive and a tour of the car and I placed an order the next day. Can't wait for the new ride to arrive at the end of June.
