Why the obsession with deleting chrome?

Because chrome is for old people who drive Cadillacs and Lincolns.

I was about to say that the only chrome that really looks good on any of my car is the chrome on my old Eldorado.

sorry, still don't see the attraction of chrome on a sporty car.

leave the chrome to the model S and its kind.

the 3 should never have chrome.

I do believe tesla will see the light, eventually, and offer a blacked out version.

My Model 3 is Blue and the chrome trim just stood out too much for me. I personally like the look of my car better with the chrome delete. Just my opinion....

I used to want a chrome delete. After failing twice at doing the vinyl and once at plasti dip.... Chrome's looking pretty good to me

Personally just not a big fan of chrome. I’ve always like gun metal type colors. Just personal preference. With that said I’ve only done my door handles on my Black 3.

I need to get the paint code used for BMW’s shadow line trim for the most pop. Instead of vinyl maybe there’s an opaque PPF treatment that’s more durable for just a smidgen more?

I watch several shows on the Motortrend Channel. Boy, do the rebuilders complain about the complexity of front ends of Cadillacs, Buicks, etc., of late 1950s to early 1960s vintages, and the amount of stuff that needs to be re-chromed.

I want all the exterior chrome on my White 3 to be done in the same hyper black I had my wheels done in. It’s not black chrome.

Why is this a thing?

I personally do not like the chrome. That’s one reason why I liked the white cars because it kinda hides it better. But I choose red in the end. The clear non tinted windows also helps the chrome not stand out so much. Never liked them. When I had the bmw I choose the sport trim to delete the chrome and would have gladly paid for a permanent delete. I personally haven’t deleted mine because I’ve learned to ignore it, and also the current solutions are 3m tape and are not permanent. They’ll eventually need replacing.
