So here is my M3P with her new winter treads. 19” bbs Alloys with Vredstein Quadrac 5 All Weather Tyre. Installed by GM Garage Inverurie. Used the jack pucks which gave me peace of mind. The new wheels came with TPMS and Tyres as a Package from Wheelbase who were very careful to check it would all fit. Changed the settings to 19” on the car and it picked up the TPMS no problem. Bring on the Aberdeenshire Winter

Those look super nice. If I may, what was the cost? I have a quote from Tesla for the 20” rims, TPMS and winter tyres, but it is expensive (of course). I am trying to look at the options and would prefer 19” wheels for winter which Tesla says is not an option if I go the Tesla rim route.

Well our winter set arrived from Tesla. Like for like 18" to keep insurance simple and give us an emergency spare.

They all came complete and balanced. Bit of an awkward consignment though. We were expecting two consignments, but on delivery found wheels were in one and extra set of key cards were the other! So some quick unpacking needed.

However, spot the mistake... :( Everything with this car seems to be a challenge...

Just need to find someone to fit them, or go checking my old jack and torque wrench is still up to the task. Jack pads hopefully arriving this week.

Right, right, right, wrong. At least the weather forecast says mild.

Stickers matched tyre rotation but as you say, they could have been taken off and reversed by a fitter - not sure how robust TPMS' are with taking tyre off then on?

All sorted by Tesla now though, in less than 2 hours. :) And they have a complete set back at warehouse too so that saved two unnecessary tyre changes. Thankfully they had not shipped the second mixed set yet.

I have an M3P and have decided I should have a set of winter wheels and tyres. I now must decide between 18” and 19” wheels. Putting aside purely cost considerations, I would appreciate any advice re 18 vs 19” wheels. My head is saying 18” but my heart 19” as being more in character with the P version of the Model 3. Thoughts?

If you have the larger performance brakes then I don't think you have the option of 18 inch wheels as they don't fit.

I went for a set of the 18" Varro flow forged alloys as my winter wheels. They are much lighter than the stock 20" on the M3P, but as MadProff says the 18" have a greater choice of tyres compared to the 19" and they are also cheaper.

The Tesla 18" wheels do not fit the larger brake calipers on the M3P, but the Varro wheels source by Gavin Wallace on the Facebook owners group mentioned a number of times in this forum do fit perfectly.

I went for gloss black wheels, and after putting on some tyre shine I think the new gloss black winter wheels look fantastic on my white M3P, and are a nice contrast to the silver 20" wheels that have been removed for winter after a thorough clean and GTechniq ceramic coat on all surfaces.

Hi ajp

interested to hear more about your wheels and tyres, who supplied and costs etc. Can you give me more info?
