In England. Last year's was about £350, this year's over £600. No incident or anything added to the policy since. Used comparethemarket.com etc. and that was the best I found. Anyone else had a similar experience or just me?
This post below is a heavily condensed version of the article here, which features more graphics, information and background.
I wanted to test for input lag in its various forms on my Model 3 performance and scrutinized not just the hardware angle (pedal lag & gear stick), but also Tesla's...
Here's the original article with full methodology and photos:

For the lazy however, here's a quick summary:
I've always wanted wing mirrors which can minimize if not totally eliminate the blind spot, so I wanted to try them all out to see which...
Back in stock finally, so I bought myself a pair of Breathe East cabin filters. They have been a preferred option over the OEM Tesla filter and also slightly beat out the XTechnor HEPA ones too according to this source, but the proof is in the pudding, so I thought I'd add my two cents:
First...
I saw a video of this again recently, and it wet my appetite, especially as you get timed and try to finish as far up the leaderboard as you can. Where's the best place in the UK to Autocross?
Hopefully I can take a friend and I think I just need a helmet? Do they supply those?
Here's the main video:
I think there ***may*** come a time when watching the Plaid win all these races becomes monotonous and predictable, but today is not that day. The whole video is worth a watch, but for the impatient below, I linked just the races.
For those not in the know, the ET...
I have a 2019 Model 3P. When the car is stationary and I'm sitting inside in Park mode, there's a "click.....clack" sound which is repeatedly heard every approx. 20 seconds coming from in front of the steering wheel area, probably underneath the dash. It's pretty quiet, but like a dripping tap...
I'd be grateful if someone could measure roughly the lug hole diameter sizes (shown as either of the green lines here) for the old or new Model 3 (or S/X/Y) performance stock wheels. Should take all of 30 seconds.
Wondering if some cool wheel locks I found fit some of these Teslas. If the lug...
I'm closing on the date I need to MOT my Tesla Model 3, so I thought I'd research a little and create this checklist of things (ordered by priority) you should probably ensure to make sure the test goes smoothly.
If you can help edit or add to this list, that'd be great. Let's help each other...
I had a semi-scary incident today, where someone was in my blind spot for a good few seconds when merging on to the motorway in the UK. I'm usually slow at changing lane, so it all ended well (I reacted just before the car's AI sounded an alarm), but it got me thinking about convex/aspheric/wide...
Preferably when flooring it from 0-60. I'll have all the columns it provides, but in particular I'm looking for:
- Time in milliseconds (it can be the time since flooring it, or the actual time, doesn't matter).
- Pedal position (say 0-100%)
- Car distance traveled (millimetre or...
I want to precisely measure the time between pressing the acceleration pedal and when the car starts to move even a millimetre. So far, from tests I've done, I'm measuring around 120 milliseconds, but I want another way to back this up to make it a bit more conclusive.
I don't think the Model 3...
Not talking about acceleration or torque here, but rather pedal response. In the past, I've heard at least a couple of people say that their Roadster felt a bit more responsive with the accelerator pedal than their Model S or 3. Do any owners of both these cars agree?
To be clear, I'm...
I've only had the car a few months, and I'm already starting to see scratches and nicks inside the vehicle, some on the hard plastic bit near the door, but also on the material coating on the door too. I don't want a full detailing job done (boot and back seats can stay untouched for instance)...
UK sales only please. I've driven 103 miles on these wheels/tires. All four are in great condition with no curb rash. Tires are Tesla's stock that have acoustic filling in.
There are minor issues on one of the wheels which is shown in the last image. On the outside are two very minor nicks. The...
Has anyone had any luck with a decent underground driveway charging unit? There's no obvious point on my house where I'd want to stick the charger with giant cable, due to aesthetic reasons. Having it tucked up underground seems a tidier solution, PROVIDING it's easily accessible and the long...
Thinking of coating my Model 3 with PPF, but prices range around £3500 for the entire car.
Can anyone recommend a decent detailer in the UK, one that's cheap, but good quality?
Not sure whether to have some kind of nano-ceramic coating on top of the PPF too. Whatever means less maintenance and...
Just wondering if the UK Model 3 wing mirrors are convex or split, and if so, to what degree is the "convex-ness"? I'm used to my blind spots being covered.
If not, I might have to invest in some decent ones from abroad...
Thanks to the findings from this table, I am considering the Michelin Cross Climate +, Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5, or the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S for the Model 3.
Since I live in the UK, we rarely get snow or ice, but often the temperature can dip below 7C (45F). Which out of the Goodyear...
I'm looking to swap the wheels and tires out from 20" to 18" upon collection of my Model 3P+ from the Tesla centre in the UK, and to reduce or eliminate possible bumps in my insurance (will it increase?), would like to get the same sort of tires. So what kind of tires did your 20" wheels come with?
TSportline sell 18" wheels to fit on the P3+, but they only sell: Continental DWS06 All Season, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, Michelin X-Ice Xi3, Michelin Primacy MXM4
Judging from Tirerack and some other sites, it looks like the Pilot Sport 4S tires are the highest rated and the others score...
Any gotchas or things to look out for? Perhaps assume Michelin 18" Pilot Sport 4S tires. Has everything worked perfectly after installation, and how has your experience been overall? Does one have to worry about switching over the TPMS sensors ? Any issues with AP, calibration or balancing which...
I've heard everything from 4.7" to 6" ground clearance.
I was just wondering, assuming worst case scenario and around a 4.7" ground clearance for the P3+, how often (if at all) will I have to worry about scraping the underside of the car on speed bumps or curbs etc.?
Anyone know this for sure? In the European and US Model 3 manuals, it says there's a ground clearance of 5.5". For the 3P+, I've heard various figures of about 1-2cm lower than that.
However, when I phoned up Sales, they said the UK 3P+ has the following ground clearance:
P-: 153mm front...
I posted this originally in the TeslaMotors subreddit on Reddit, but I'd love to see what you guys think too.
I love the shape of the Model S, but think the front is a little long, so I photoshopped it to make it shorter.
I'm hoping this will be more like the shape of the upcoming Model E. What...
Newbie investment question really, but if Tesla really wanted to, how much could they dip into their 20 billion market cap they have for expanding their company (e.g.: building new factories, including that giga-size battery factory)?
Could they just do it, or would they need 'permission' from...
I hear that the Model S's top end battery is capable of a whopping 270 kW of raw power (equivalent to around 140 of my 2kW kettles running simultaneously). However, that's presumably a maximum. What's the wattage (not watt hour) when driving at 55mph? Also what's the average wattage used when...
