    New Model 3 Performance news

Did your order show up in your Tesla acc? I ordered one on Wednesday as well. Got an order # and was charged the $400 but I cannot see it in my Tesla acc, even though I included my existing email and contact details in the order.

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

Thanks for the replies. Sounds as though they wont be worse for seeing Roos, Wallabies & Wombats then , which is the main thing I wanted to know. Now I do have another Question relating to the adaptive side of things.. Matrix headlights set to auto, car coming the other way and system has...

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

How do you guys find the new matrix headlights on the highland refresh compared to the older non matrix ones (as fitted to my MY20)? Are they equal or as good, on country roads for seeing wildlife. Obviously all the adaptive stuff will be nice improvement, that is a given.

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Yep, I have sent a motoring journo friend down to checkout the "leak" location. If it is legit she'll be all over it.

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

I came here to find about about the highland but now I am totally confused, double negatives & all. All seems so OT to be irrelevant in any case..

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

The onscreen car rendering is too small. In the early days (2020) the car was nearly twice the size and it was easy to make out brake lights and indicators. They shrank it to fit other info onscreen.

Does the highland LR have the option of acceleration boost?

I am looking to trade my MY20 3 AWD LR (AB) for a highland. Like @TomServo I have been rally happy with this config. Frustrating not to be able to get the Acceleration Boost with the MY24. I wont need all the bells, whistles & extra $$ of a M3P and would have to downsize the wheels in any case...

Credits: Enticing us to get Acceleration Boost?

I have a MY20 M3 with acceleration boost that is just over 4 years old now. I am about to sell it. I am not expecting acceleration boost will add any value to its resale after 4 years, but it has been worth it to me. Chill & Standard becomes Chill & Sport. Shame they do not arrange it so it...

    Charging Adaptors 101

Sounds promising. I have three HSWC's so a bit of an investment there, that I would like to retain. The Volvo is envisaged to be a tweener while I await the big Tesla rig for the farm if it ever materialises. Will do an inventory and check the switch settings inside my Gen 2 wall connectors. Thnx.

    Charging Adaptors 101

Hopefully not too OT. I have several gen 2 Wall Chargers. Has anyone had success using them to charge non Tesla EVs? Looking to get a cough cough don't laugh (Swedish car) o_O later in the year. I am aware of the dip switches in the v2 HSWC. Also that in the early revs 00, 01 & 03 the...

Practical kilometres in a M3 long range

Good suggestion. Nah cant see anything like that on my Teslafi account unfortunately. It only compares my to others of similar config. My friend lives 180km from Melb and wants to be able to do return trips to town with a bit of driving around in town while he is there. All without charging...

Practical kilometres in a M3 long range

Yeah I know all that. 60k btw. That is why I am asking, what the guessometer shows on a new single motor Model 3. So I can tell my mate what to expect in real life should he buy one.. My neighbour has a 2020 SR and she says it only display 320km. But newer single motors have a much...

Practical kilometres in a M3 long range

Can anyone tell me what the guessometer says on a current model 3 single motor. Friend is looking to buy a 3 single motor and I think he might have quoted a range of 460 by Tesla. Does this mean the guessometer will show something around 400 when new and fully charged? My 2020 dual motor...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

.. and Drive Electric watch app was saying same too. Got in touch with Tesla service. They pushed the same 2022.44.30 update to my car again (that was already installed) and the Software update message has cleared. All good now. As an aside they initially said to reinstall the phone app, but I...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Good idea. Tried that now. No change. Wife's iPhone has same message as my android so presumably it is being generated by the server and not the car. EDIT: furthermore Teslafi also says 2022.44.30 is downloading even though the car says it is installed. Gotta be a server side glitch. Will...

Teslsa app is stuck saying my car is downloading an update with the rotating activity circle while the car thinks it is up to date! My car has 2022.44.30 installed and maps au-2022.36-14191. Both android and IOS phone app says Software update is downloading 2022.44.30 (100%) and both have been...

I have been using NoA. Doesn't seem to add much of use though. Was nearing an exit on the freeway and I was anticipating seeing it plan and take the exit. Then it started to rain lightly and "NoA not available due to reduced visibility" message. So it reverted to EAP meaning I had to do the...

Put the indicator on and then place light pressure on the wheel in the same direction. (Pressure on the wheel but not turning it). You will see the adjacent lane turn pale blue with a rectangle where it plans to lane change your car to. At this point the car takes over and you can release the...

Brake Regeneration - Low To Non-Existent (Aussie Site - Discussion)

Best to gross error check your logs before you post them @zarbs. No way that one reflects reality. Unless you were driving at 370kmh?? Driving time is 6 minutes or 1/10 of an hour and distance covered is 37km. Do the maths. You said the drive was all steep downhill, whereas recorded altitude...

Windscreen may have cracked when cooling car?

Last weekend my Model 3 car was parked in the sun for several hours on a warm 32C day. About to head off so I precooled the locked car remotely, as the app told me it was 57C inside. Shortly later, on the ten minute drive home I noticed a 15cm vertical crack, right in the centre of the...

The radio station logo & media improvements in 40.4 are nice. While eye candy of logos is good - the main improvement for me is being able to see 21 stations displayed at once. Used to drive me nuts the single column text list, that scrolled on forever! Any one worked out if anything...

Good point but they were definitely all closed. As I had hoped, it has fixed itself after car got a good nights sleep after the firmware update. WA lock working properly again now. I just got 36.6 today and they are not listed or installed for me. This update to 36.6 has killed my walk away door lock too. Was just into my second beer at the boozer when I noticed the phone app telling me the car was parked down the street and unlocked o_O. Came home, rebooted the car...

I find the scrolling method to be quicker. But the auto detection was way better. If it speed reduced automatically on entry into a town it would also increase speed again automatically, when exiting the zone (Think passing through a 1 horse town in the country). The odd thing was that if you...

TACC failure on Tesla Vision software

As annoying as you may feel it is, that does not seem too bad to me. Came to a crest, shadows on road & car slowed from 100 to 80 before you took over? Maybe your car decided to brake check the 4wd tailgating you ;) I use AP all the time out on regional roads and it works fine for me...

More like they pushed another batch. On Teslafi, in Australian cars, 2022.36.2 jumped from 41 installs yesterday to 145 by about midday, then stopped incrementing. It is ramping in Europe now. Follows the sunrise I guess ;) So I will see what tomorrow morning brings!

Phone app wont connect when car is Asleep

It is working fine for me now, but it took me a little longer to get it fixed properly. When I previously posted in this thread, they got it working again by doing stuff on their server side. They could see the poke SMS messages were not getting sent by the Telco. However the issue returned...

That will work well when you are driving in fog. Perhaps this is the technique used by drivers who persist with driving in fog, leading to the pile ups we see from time to time in the northern hemisphere.

Unlike many other around here, I have quite liked the auto high beam feature. It has worked well for me in my mostly rural driving. I have always had it active, so I have continuously monitored and been happy enough with its performance. But since updating to 2022.24.6 it has performed...
