Regen braking - Clicking feeling and weak at times

Slippery conditions are making mine click and pop as the pedal is quickly applied and released. Doesn't seem to be an issue. Roads have been glare ice the past couple weeks.
  2. S

Anyone notice their regen braking affected by 2022.20.6?

I currently have low and standard as options.
  3. S

Anyone notice their regen braking affected by 2022.20.6?

Toggle the "Apply physical brakes" switch. It will fix your one pedal all the time issue.

Regenerative braking setting in V. 2022.16.1.1

I'm not experiencing the issue. Auto apply brakes stays active with my profile whether I am in my car or my wife's.

Regenerative braking setting in V. 2022.16.1.1

It's possible that they are only putting it on vehicles running FSD. Mine has it but my wife's new car does not.

Do you need conduit for in wall 4-awg thhn?

Yes I should have clarified. I ran Romex. From panel in wall through ceiling and then plastic conduit down to the wall connector since it was punched down through ceiling along outside of the wall.

Do you need conduit for in wall 4-awg thhn?

Depends on local regulations. I just finished installing the second connector and neither have conduit in the attic

Starting to feel like Cybertruck is going the way of the Roadster: Vaporware

Nah. There is clearly three companies actually producing and one big one that keeps talking about producing. That's all.
  9. S

Starting to feel like Cybertruck is going the way of the Roadster: Vaporware

And GM will have 15 more announcements for models that are coming soon without ever producing any of the previous ones. Cybertruck will be here in mass next year.

    Speed Limit Signs not detected

I hear ya,. County roads in MN are unmarked 55mph so the car defaults to 30mph.

    Replacement Tires for 19" wheels

Did the weather change or did you add extra weight to the vehicle? Wait till you have 4k on the tires and then look at the average. I saw a similar change with CC2s but after a couple thousand miles it's now about the same as the stock tires.
  12. S

    Speed Limit Signs not detected

Possibly the signs are all placed too far to the sides of the road that the cameras aren't picking them up. I have a couple areas like that as well.

    Wall Connector Powersharing Question/Help

This is all seeming overly complicated. Gen 3 connectors require a separate circuit for each unit. I have one connector currently and about to add the second. First one is run directly from 200amp panel, 50 amp breaker using NMB 6/2. Second one will be run from same 200amp panel using 50 amp...

    Safety Score for Insurance

Nobody said drive below the speed limit but if the flow of traffic is 100mph that is also not the safest thing to do. The speed limit plus or minus 5mph and adjusting for the weather conditions is.

Starting to feel like Cybertruck is going the way of the Roadster: Vaporware

Made my statement, you don't believe me, we can all move on now. I can't say anything more on the subject.

Starting to feel like Cybertruck is going the way of the Roadster: Vaporware

Seems like you are trying to rile up someone enough to divulge information that would in fact violate an NDA. Giga Texas was specifically built for Y and Cybertruck and if you think Tesla isn't already building the infrastructure for the truck then my statement will remain. time will tell.
  17. S

Starting to feel like Cybertruck is going the way of the Roadster: Vaporware

Maybe, maybe not. Believe what you want. Time will tell. The Giga casting machine is already built, that's common knowledge.
  18. S

Starting to feel like Cybertruck is going the way of the Roadster: Vaporware

Assembly line is currently being put in place. The machines that build the machines are on their way to the factory. That is all I can say.

There isn't a 12v pyro fuse. Pyro fuse is for HV battery.

Model Y : Tax credits SUV price limit with FSD included

These tax credits appear to be catering to GM and designed to exclude everyone else so just don't count on being eligible.

Will Auto Lane Change even be included with Basic AutoPilot

It resets to the known speed limit plus your chosen offset. Why is this such a big deal for anyone?
  22. S

Will Auto Lane Change even be included with Basic AutoPilot

True, it has been updated so when the indicator is on AP fights much less before disengaging.
  23. S

Will Auto Lane Change even be included with Basic AutoPilot

No. Basic AP will not do auto lane changes. AP disengages when you go to move lanes. Except AP1 vehicles it was included.
  24. S

Model Y : Tax credits SUV price limit with FSD included

I believe if you defer you may go to the back of the line.
  25. S

Will Auto Lane Change even be included with Basic AutoPilot

Nope. Now we are talking model Y and 3 using Basic AP. When changing lanes you can turn your indicator on which disables AP but keeps cruise on, make your lane change and then press down on control stock to reactivate AP.
  26. S

Will Auto Lane Change even be included with Basic AutoPilot

Don't need resume. All you do is press down on the control stock once and there you go.

    Replacement Tires for 19" wheels

Yea I'm excited to try them out in this upcoming Minnesota Winter.

    Replacement Tires for 19" wheels

After 4000miles I don't see a significant noise difference. There definitely was at first but now that they wore in they seem about the same. For me any slight noise change is worth the grip achieved in inclement weather.

    Safety Score for Insurance

Or just change your driving behavior if your score is low. The whole point of safety score is to incentivise and train you to be safer.

Tesla Insurance Agent told me to cancel my policy?!?

Both easily avoidable by maintaining a proper 4 second follow distance and not flying around turns.

    Add Sound Insulation to Tires?

Like the last poster stated it must be an XL load rating or you will have problems in a short time. I changed from the stock Continentals with foam at 42000 miles and went to Michelin Cross Climate 2s without foam. After a couple thousand miles the tires worked in and the noise level isn't much...

Motors making louder noise after a lot of slow regenerative braking.

Could have been hearing a lot of things handling all the energy going down hill. Systems pulling heat away from motors, inverters making a whining as it dumps all the energy into the battery. Long distance down hill I noticed extra motor and inverter noises as well as the heat pump working in my...

    Replacement Tires for 19" wheels

Just checked and with 3000miles on the tires I'm sitting at 271wh/m most of which has been all highway at 70mph so a bit higher speed than normal. Still pretty good

Insuring two Tesla Model 3s under the same policy with two drivers

Hard acceleration and spirited driving doesn't affect your score. What does affect and increase likelihood of a crash is follow distance.
  36. S

Tesla Insurance Agent told me to cancel my policy?!?

The main thing affecting your scores is going to be follow distance. Too many people follow too close and that's why I'm seeing a lot of customers come in that rear ended another car or got rear ended themselves. The program encourages safer driving through incentives. It's great because you...

    Pyrotechnic fuse

Can I ask why you need a pyrofuse? If it's what I think you are likely going to need more than just the fuse. Probably have either airbags or pretentioners that activated as well.
  38. S

    Pyrotechnic fuse

I don't recommend working on that part of the car without training. Tesla technicians are the only ones that should do that. You can check the service manual on Teslas website for more info and part numbers.

    Speed Limit Signs not detected

FSD is doing really good but I agree it isn't ready for the masses. We'll see after the next update but there's still a couple things it has trouble with, mainly complex intersections.

    Replacement Tires for 19" wheels

I noticed efficiency day one of the new tires was a bit lower too. Now that mine broke in they are doing really good. I also had the guys at work dial in my alignment which helped too. I've heard lots of good things about the Pirellis and those were second on my list. I wanted more agressive...

    Speed Limit Signs not detected

The cars are now detecting high curvature turns and slowing down accordingly, though the slowdown isn't as smooth as a human driving. At some point I expect that the vehicles will smoothly slow down ahead of time.
  42. S

    Replacement Tires for 19" wheels

Correction I double checked the picture I took before I changed the tires. Original tires in summer I was getting 242 wh/m over a 4500 mile period and the new ones I'm going to double check tomorrow but I believe I'm still under 250wh/m. The 260wh/m number wasn't coming from my tire rotation...

    Replacement Tires for 19" wheels

I drive in chill mode always unless needed for passing or to have some fun. I was at an average of 284 wh/m for the 42k miles on original tires and changed them at 3mm remaining. So far I'm around 266 wh/m on the Michelin CC2s but haven't gone through winter yet. During the summer with...

Yep, I noticed it in my 21 MYLR. Just adjusted to slow down sooner and increased follow distance.

    Replacement Tires for 19" wheels

I hit 42,000 miles on the stock Continentals and really liked the tires but put on Michelin Cross Climate 2s a month ago. I have about 3000 miles on them now and I can say I really like them on dry and in the rain. Waiting for the heavy snow this winter to test them on that front but so far so...

Dash Cam Not Working Check USB

Ok thanks. From what I understand the dash cam issue where the USB drive says disconnected and you unplug and plug it back in to get it to work, should be fixed soon by software update. Backup camera not working likely is a hardware issue such as a chewed wire or bad component. Hard to say...
