Old cars without assisted powwr steering, designed for manual steering are not the same as cars with non-operable assisted steering. The later is very difficult to steer and this will be more so with such a heavy car. To the point where it will feel locked, especially with such a small wheel.

I cancelled delivery of my MYP in Dec due to lack of USSs and kept my MYLR with USSs (and radar). I received a refund of the reservation fee without issue or argument. I will consider ordering one again once this mess is sorted out.

Volvo XC40 have cracked that one. Has bits of string style solid cover which is removable and stows under the boot floor. Nice bit of design. I'm sure there will be others also.

Each to their own of course but my favourite Tesla feature is that you don't need a key and you don't need to do anything with your phone. Just open the door handle and go! I don't carry a wallet either. I keep my Tesla card inside my phone case. In 9 months I've never needed it.

Have you raised a service request in the app? Mine was missing the usb stick. I raised SR and got a response same day. I chose to have it posted out to me.

I've been invited to book my collection for 21st Dec. I'm not confirming the collection. I'm assuming they will contact me at some point and I'll request its deferred until they have a solution to the USS. I would rather drive my MY LR with working sensors until.then.

People are taking delivery of the first model y performances in the uk. They are coming without USS and seem to have the old cameras although it's hard to tell in the pics.

When multiple electrical items are affected in automotive electrics, I always suspect a break in the ground as these are usually shared with multiple circuits. Could you have disturbed a common ground?

Apart from the concerns already raised, you can't plug in both sockets simultaneously, so when one plug is connected the other is live. Switched sockets don't really help that much as you may forget to switch it off before plugging in/unplugging or leave one switched off and therefore overload...

Yeah I did see the empty port. I didn't expect it to be on the top, so quite hard to see when you're looking in the wrong place. No usb stick in mine, sadly.

Picked my Y up today. I'm very happy with it, worth the wait. Ride is firm and at times a little fidgety IMO and thats on 19s, but I am a cantankerous fusspot. This would be a fantastic car on air suspension. It does feel like a car that you could throw about and of course it has to be setup...

There's no evidence of a lease biase but I offer these observations. Its likely that the lease companies will have large blocks of reservations allocated around the time that ordering is open to the public (perhaps before), so it follows thst they will make up a lot of the early orders. Queues...

Got a call from TA today confirming that my car is ready to be collected from Newcastle on the 1st March. I asked if it was in the country or on a ship. I was told its in Southampton and it looked like it was brought in on the Hyperion Ray.

I'm booked in to collect at Tesla Newcastle on 1st March. My 22 reg was confirmed today by text. Feels more real now. Only 8 sleeps ;)

I would say it depends on where it makes a difference, if it's it's in the 50+ range, it may be nice on motorways. I'll certainly be trying it after I've become accustomed to the car.

The usual wonderful variation in the Tesla order process! I would imagine that they allocate from a pool in advance and register on the day, if paid. Maybe the pools are regional. Who knows! I've scoured every mm of my invoice several times and it shows vin and reservation number but no reg.

No. I had not paid for it yet at that point though. I have since. I don't think they would register it until it's paid in full. I think CS said it would come through a few days before collection.

Yes. Got mine a week ago when I rang to change the date from 28th Feb to 1st March. I also asked for the final invoice so I could sort out payment. I ave collection date and time confirmed in the app for Newcastle but no reg details yet.

Well, must totally take back my whinge. Rang this morning and it was moved to the 1st without any argument. Also moved to final invoice stage so that I can get on with bank transfers. Guy was very helpful, polite and quick. I was off the phone in about a min and account updated immediately. So...

Just had the text through to select delivery date. 26th or 28th Feb. Neither of which I want. Do they send more dates? I want early Mar. I would have happily taken it in Jan or even beging of Feb but I'm not taking it the day before reg change.
